A24 today

Was heading down about 11.30 (and back 5ish) - saw shed loads of bikes heading down / up A24 - all seemed to be going to/from a meet south of Leatherhead.

Just wondered if anyone knew what was going on? Regular meeting?

Cheers

Lovely conditions today - ideal for a newbie - really enjoyed it.

ps - Only use my leathers at weekends (not on my commute in London) - and they are still very stiff - any quick ways of stretching them? Someone suggested having a bath in them - but I think they might’ve been taking the mick.

That almost certainly has something to do with Box Hill.

To get rid of a stiffy (leathers that is) try Renapur: http://www.renapur.com/

It’s the absolute dogs!

Weve tried this but Urad is even better. Its also much better value for money! (www.uradleathercare.co.uk)

Loads of us at Box Hill today…had a really good ride out with Abbeyj and Python…took in a lot of country lanes and the weather was THE best its been…lets hope it continues and then i will be down Dick Turpins on tues on the A127…yay !!

the only trip i had today on the bike was to work and back! boo! roll on next weekend!!

We were at Box today as well, lunch and evening, loads of people there today:D Lots of interesting bikes too and bumped into the Boxhill forum lot as well. I didn’t see anyone I recognised from this Forum though.

Was one of the best sunny days biking this year, so that’s probably why the A24 was packed out today:D

Sunniest day of the year and we spent it indoors trying not to jerk off bikers helmets! FBOS rocks.

I was at Ryka’s about 15:30-16:00 and saw only one person I know and zero - yes zero LB stickers apart from mine. Folks, if you’re members, get some stickers on your steeds/helmets.

We were sitting on the benches right by Rykas, but got there bit later than 16.00…

But, see, i dont really want to put LB stickers on my bike or helmet?..is it compulsory Jim? i didnt know that…? ive never really been one for having stickers etc on my bike etc from anything let alone LB? some of us dont mind obviously but personally ive never done the sticker thing?

Erm…left my stickers on the teapot, so now LB is advertised ooop north somewhere

Of course it isn’t compulsory. But Jay does have some nice little teensy oval ones not much bigger than a postage stamp.

Some of them are good for covering the evidence of the odd mistake as well…

:stuck_out_tongue: see, i come from that club as well…so have steered away from using them cos got fedup with biker mates (men!) saying, what u trying to hide now? !! ha ha…Spied today at Box…2 guys, 2 girls…Girls in jeans with the low waist, showing off all the ass, shoes, jkts no protection, and NO gloves…guys, jkts no protection, no boots, jeans and NO gloves, oh and all had crappy cheapo helmets and the L plater with them had to jump start his 125 to get going !!! seriously thought of having a word but would prob got told to bog off…one girl didnt want to leave or finish her drink so promptly sat on the back with her drink in her hand !!! classy !!! They managed one thing, to get ours and others attention though…we couldnt stop talking about what we had just seen…oh, that and some complete pratt, prancing around in her bikini and high shoes !!! and the girls turning up in their cars to hang around to see any tasty biker boys !!! :stuck_out_tongue: What a day eh?

On the way home from FBOS Jackie and I saw some candidates for attention - the R1 rider at Wandsworth Bridge Roundabout determined to collide with a LandRover who only spoiled our opportunity for practice because he allowed the LandRover driver to see him at the last moment and moved to the left to avoid the collision. There were plenty of the tee shirt and sandal brigade on all sorts of sports machines, and plenty of girlfriends wearing even less! :w00t:

Saw plenty of those at Box - blokes with full kit, ‘Burds’ with eff-all. Maybe they haven’t heard of Human Crayons…

I’d have seen a few of you guys at Box today as I went out after fixing my speedo, well I had to test it, and watching the MotoGP. I had intended to head down that way, until I got…errr…lost! I must remember to take a map with me next time, ended up riding all over the countryside south of London looking for some decent roads, ended up on the A4 back into London in the end, managed to do 130miles from one tank and my speedo is now working 100% fine! :Whistling:

I saw a few people out and about today in t-shirts, shorts, jeans, no gloves, some on sports bikes others on cruisers, its a free country I guess and if they’re legal then there’s nowt anyone can do, I just hope they don’t learn the hard way, ouch!! :w00t:

Well we got to Box about 1pm and stayed til about 2pm, rode out, and back at Box about 5.30 ish. I was wearing my bikini, no gloves, no helmet and flip flops as it was far too hot to ride the Hornet in anything else  JOKING!! No I was wearing my special BMW textile armoured Summer Trousers that zip off into shorts, just the ticket for yesterday’s weather AND a leather jacket AND gloves AND a helmet LOL

There were three of us ladies and one bloke, who is now Charlie and we are now his Angels. I am currently interviewing for members of the Charlie’s Angels South London Chapter, so if you want to join, just PM me. :stuck_out_tongue:

I find it hard to recognise people at Box, as there are always so many folks and bikes:)

Lovely day though for it hope it continues
