I spent 20 minutes on the phone to them last week for a quote and the guy said he would me back in an hour as he reckoned he could beat my quote of £385 from ebike. Never heard back form him so went through it all again today. The girl came back to me and said “we’ve got this amazing price for you of £1100”!! I had a chuckle and told her my best quote. She said she would pass it on to another team to see if they could do anything better and she would call me back. As you can probably guess i havent had a call back…
I am probably lucky and match Swinton’s profile of a low(ish) risk customer, other people will always match other companies profiles, but it definately pays to shop around… as a slight aside, of the 12 or so companies I phoned only 3 of them had staff that sounded like they were remotely human and had any kind of personality, they were Swintons, Carole Nash and MCE. Most of the others were completely like robots, and one or two were completely rude! Again, I think it depends on which member of their team you speak to. If I tried again today I might find the people with personalities are on duty at different companies today:)
I rang swintons the other day and they came back with a 2 bike policy of £700+. I could have insured them separately with Swintons for about £400. Go figure. I stuck with my current insurer at £220. Madness.
it was the text thing that let Swinton call my mobile trying to flog other products. I’m waiting for other ’ carefully selected Swinton Partners’ to start phoning me now.
I wasn’t even asked. The best thing about Swinton’s is the pic of the ‘Swinton Siren’ straddling the orange and black ZX10R that was posted on LB a few weeks back:w00t::w00t::w00t:
