Thanks for the birthday wishes guys, I’ve not been posting in here much recently but I do still pop in a read the posts…

I’ve not had the greatest of birthdays. I had my long awaited operation on my shoulder nerves on Friday, so what remains of my right arm is strapped up and forbidden to move, and I’m also not supposed to look left in case I dislodge the nerve graft I had done on the right hand side of my neck. Other than that it was all pain free, and my hospital stay was sweetened by being housed in a private room on a private ward… it was like being on holiday.

I’ve been missing my bike all the more now the weather is good, apart from one day when it rained as hard as I’ve ever seen, and even now I feel tempted to filter across Blackheath - so if you’re going that way and being followed down the centre of the road by a silver Ford Fusion being driven by a one armed bloke, it’ll probably be me.

I’ve been issued with my NHS issue false arm, but I don’t use it. It looks as if it has been stolen from a dummy in Burtons, and I look and feel like an extra from Mannequin*

Other than that I’m just meandering through life, I’m still not working full hours but that’ll change when I resume to work after my enforced break due to my latest operation. I’ve been watching all the MotoGP but for some reason I appear to have missed most of the WSB & BSB season. I do feel somewhat guilty about Sylvain Guintoli’s disastrous ‘race’ at Donnington. I had just signed him for my fantasy racing league team prior to that race…

I hope you all have a good summer biking, and if I may allow myself to become all serious and morose for a moment, make the most if it - you never know when it’ll be taken from you…

Happy biking, and keep it shiny side up…

John

Whenever I drive my car and I hit traffic I am so tempted to just pop down the middle of the road past all the queuing cars…I swear one day I will actually do it…“sorry officer, I thought I was on my bike”

Happy Bday one and all…and Johnse - Keep your chin up fella - sounds remarkable how you’ve kept things together this year - many many others would’ve folded I am sure.

  • for the youngsters on here it’s a really rather crap 1980’s movie about shop dummies coming to life, which remarkably enough isn’t a horror flick http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mannequin_(film)[/quote]With that great tune by Starship in it and also an earlier appearance from Kim Cattral

MHR you lot:D
