A mini quiz for DesmoMan

I’d like the full make and model of the bikes below and which two share the same basic engine;)

How many garages have you got! :hehe:

top left … BSA rocket 3 top right … hurricane X75

bottom right … triumph trident T160 v

bottom left … triumph trident T150 vtrident and hurricane ?

I wish people would read the question:Whistling:

Hey dude, sorry for not getting involved in my own mini quiz, got to wrapped up in the last one.

OK so we have a

1969 BSA Rocket 3 (Top left)

1969 Triumph X75 Hurricane. (top right)

1969 Triumph 750 Trident T150. (bottom left)

And last but not least 1975 Triumph 750 Trident T160v (I got one)

the x75 and the rocket 3 share the same basic engine, but the t160v took all the best of all the previous triples. Except the oil feed on the t160 delivers to much oil and causes it to smoke, answer to problem fit a t150 feed… But all have the most horrible clutch in the world…a common mistake is to fit a mini clutch plate as mini clutch is the same design. The plate is cheaper and more available… but not the same…god I sound like a nerd sorry…

i got all excited when i saw those bikes and didn’t read the title …ooppppsss

i did quite like the quadrant they tried , but wrong time , there was no way they could compete with Honda 750 … and by that time the Z900 too

Err, yes you do fella, you and 5150 should get together!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Well done:D

The Hurricane did actually start life as the BSA Hurricane as it used the Rocket 3 engine. The problem was that the name BSA had died before Craig Vetter had finished the project so it was re-badged Triumph:w00t:

Heres some pics of the very first Hurricane X75;)

Well done:cool:

Hurray!
Thank-you for the mini quiz, I enjoyed it hugely.
I look forward to the next one. Although I feel I should return the compliment and do you a quiz… Cheers S

Please do as long as its post 1960 stuff;)
