4th Dimension insurance repair company.

A friend got rear ended and the guilty parties insurance company want this outfit to repair the bike. Has anyone got any experience of them.

I don’t think the guilty party can insist on a particular repairer.  T.C is the man who’d know.

I know nothing about them in that context. I once visited as they are close to me, intending to buy a spare part. They were rude and unhelpful and I think I may havr told the guy he was a useless cunt.

I think they are an outfit linked to insurance companies. I think MCE use them as I’m pretty sure they wanted me to use them when I was going through a claim. Have no experience but I would always ask for the repairs to be done with a mechanic of my choice (as I did in my case). Otherwise, you have no idea where costs are cut or the quality of work

You are correct.  Insurers by law cannot insist that you use their preferred or panel repair firms.  You are allowed and entitled to use who you want to use.

If you choose to use their particular repairer then that is up to yu, but you cannot be made to use them.

Thanks for the input. I am worried that he could get into a world of hassle if they don’t do a quality and safe repair. Also if they can’t get the spares what happens. It’s an oldish uncommon bike (VN1500 Drifter) and I dont believe you can get new parts for it. The rear mudgaurd is wrecked, maybe the swing arm damaged too.

They were the nominated repairer when I went through my insurance company for a tank repair in 2014. Had to send the bike back as the paint wasn’t sealed properly around the filler neck so started to bubble within a week. They did a proper job the second time but was still annoying and a waste of my time. Aside from that, no issues that I remember.

For future reference to anyone, To try to stop you going elsewhere other than their approved repairer, AVIVA charge you a further £200 excess on top of what you have already agreed if you do decide to use your own repairer… Personally nowadays  I would use the repairer that concentrates on the Marque of the bike you want fixed… Honda repairer for Honda etc

I’ve used them … twice. Were very flexible and helpful. They’re very thorough and never seem to be in a rush to complete.

A cynic might suggest that a fault free claim (both mine were) then the more time spent repairing then the higher the costs and more margin. Additionally if you’re on a loan bike then that company also makes more money the longer it takes. Insurance all seems incestuas when it comes to who owns who and then of course its us punters picking up the tab.

My bike is with them currently, can’t comment on the quality of work until I get it back but good communication so far and they were quick to arrange collection of my bike and dropped off a courtesy bike at the same time.

My mate works for them, and seriously I wouldn’t trust his spannering for a bloody second. I raced with him for several seasons and his attention to detail is shockingly bad!

There shit
Biggest bunch of useless fucktards I’ve ever come across

I’m glad they’re only replacing a few fairing panels then…

I'd be surprised as to the legality of this, but am sure TC will see and comment on it. Seems to be prejudical towards their own repairer, and making you pay a penalty for exercising a legal right

They are shit… had a crap job in my old Fazer years ago… give them a wide berth…

Thanks all. He is going to make alternative arrangements.

How do you really feel though Wise?

As soon as they collect your bike they get paid storage is why collect so quick, they also own SurreyMCSalvage eBay shop so have a vested interest in keeping your bike to sell on for profit Know few people that worked there and parts go missing off bikes, not repaired correctly, they put people bikes up for sale without the claims being sorted

Speak to Ink on here they had her bike on eBay selling before even settled when she had a accident,

They are owned by MCE and Carol Nash I believe absolute showers of shit

Reason why we started dealing with no fault accidents too many mates got knocked by these cretins

Oh well, Bike is there now. Guess I’ll just have to make sure I give it a proper check when they return it.

When I got my GSXR back the front master cylinder was swapped back to a OEM part
The front wheel was different and so was the discs
The rear mudguard was a OEM part instead of the carbon part I had fitted
When I phoned them up they denied evtything
Even tho the insurance company already knew I had fitted different parts
And lucky enough I had pictures of the damage showing all the parts on the bike
A threat of legal action soon resolved things
