Oh the joy - no trains, not TFL fees, no Oyster fees, no derailments, no delays, no strikes, no signal problems, no ‘people taking ill on the train’, no ‘passenger action’, no ticket inspectors…
Oh the bliss…the freedom… UNTIL YOU ARE STUCK BEHIND A FCUKING DUST CART
Yeah true… sad thing is (all you’ll probably see from my posts) I got into the bike thing via commuting but I seem to have learnt so fast with regards to watching out for ‘blind’ peeps on the road.
When I used to commute in by bike I got hit 4 times in the space of 2 weeks, with the last of them putting me in hospital. 6/700 miles a week to work and back takes all the fun away from riding.
I hope you get chance to ride away from your commute
I ride my bike to commute and pleasure, it doesnt matter how dangerous my journey to work is, its still better than being herded like cattle on buses and trains to work.
Last three days I’ve had to be in for 6am,nice dry roads all the way into Central London, amazing how quick you can do 20 odd miles at that time, still slowing down for all those gatsos down the A12 and through the City. When you get to work and your tyres are hot you know its been fun!!!
Simplest explanation… what that they were my fault?
Nope, bit hard to be at fault when sitting in stationary traffic and then rear ended, or hit by someone who had no control of their car and thought L plates would magically change that when she pulled out of a junction that I was almost level with whilst looking straight at me (& she was unaccompanied too)…
