I wonder who’s at fault in this incident. It’s almost like no-one saw what happened, only noticed the aftermath.
Very sad. Someone’s lost their kid and the biker has to live with knowing that he has a life on their hands.
Doesn’t really matter who’s right or wrong. RIP
That’s very sad, I used to live off Malden Road, and know that area very well, it’s not a road layout with unusual layout or high risk factors, bar perhaps the pedestrianised market in Queen’s Crescent on a weekend, I hope the police manage to get some witnesses.
I lived up the road from there and have commuted Malden Rd every day. I still use Maitland Racing (further up the road) for my bike’s MoTs. The road surface is awful with collapsed speed bumps and tables. It’s nominally 20 mph but after being held up on Chalk Farm Road most traffic takes advantage of the usually clear Malden Road to ‘make progress’ for a bit before the inevitable snarl up at Fleet Road.
The police are still appealing for witnesses; it’s too early to apportion blame. Sad, another life lost.
I used to use Maitland Racing too, great little garage. Agreed the road surface isn’t fantastic.
