124mph in a 40 zone

I fitted a new tyre to my baby and took it for a spin to Box hill today to test her out, I was coming back along the dual carriage way cruising at about 40 - 45mph and looked down at my speedo, I slammed on the brakes knowing there are speed cameras because the speedo was showing 124mph!!! I slowed it to 90mph and several cars passed me, i must of actually been doing about 20mph when it read 90mph!!:w00t:

Yes, I changed my gearing ages ago but the speedo was still accurate(ish) and has been for months, all of a sudden it has gone crazy!! I think my bike just likes me to spend money on it all the time!

That’s funny mate. I think I should join to your “spent as much money as possible on your bike” club. Get it sorted before it will get you into trouble of paying “speed tickets” LOL

ive had a similar thing happen,

went out to turn the bike on, switched ignition on and the speedo quickly counted all the way up to 43mph and stopped for afew seconds, then flickerd back to 0.

no idea why and only happened once and the clocks have yet to play up.

all this new technology for ya

When I had a ten year old 1980’s Nissan car it started doing strange things with the speedo reading 50 instead of 30 etc shortly before it was scrapped.

dude don’t do anything with your speedo :smiley: I will come, we will stick cam on your bike and we get some high speed passes of c90 :stuck_out_tongue:

LOOL !! I already thought of that, i am having issue with my camcorder keeps going mental when i turn the bike on, i think i need to get one that uses a tape instead of hard drive! 300mph on a R1 !! lol

you think mate ha ha ha me and a mate got pulled for actualy doing 145mph on the a406 but ha ha the copper said “boys its your lucky day all there kit shorted out” ha ha ha bloody hell what luck they then just looked over bikes saying nice like that bit ect ect

Hehe I thought when it was registering 75 odd when I took it out I wasn’t going that fast!!! Was going to say sommit, but forgot all about it when I gave it back… :slight_smile: Glad to hear about you back on the bike though!
