You have to admire Banksy for his bottle

He erected a scaffolding tower to do this under the nose of CCTV cameras:D:D:D

banksy is good…

however theres more to graffitti than him…

i know of many writers with much bigger balls:D;)

Graffiti sucks. Banksy is at least humerous and artistic or has a message. Tox03 and all the name tags no matter how colourful or daring are a blight on London and taxpayer wallets not to mention dangerous to the scrotes involved expecially round the Tube network.

Agreed gg

Banksy is mare than just graffiti, he is a social commentator and artist and the majority of his stuff puts a smile on people’s faces.

No time for common or garden graffiti though:cool:

in your opinon it does…in mine it doesnt…i like tags:D i like pieces, i like stencils, i love it all…i gaveit all up before it ruined my life, my friend used to paint with TOX, tox is the true essence of graffitti. what do you think banksy did before stencils…i know this cos i know people that know him;)we all have our opinions, being an ex-writer i have mine.besides your taxes are wasted on a lot more things than just graf, and yes i do pay my taxes and i did when i painted aswell:w00t::wink:

I find we seem to be in agreement over quite a few issues Chunky - FWB, Graffitti etc :DI find it a little scary and will now resort to wearing a tinfoil helmet to stop your illicit brain intrusions…

Two main problems with your theory however…I fuggin hate Arsenal and IL4’s;)

Fair play - we all have our own viewpoints and a boring old world it would be if we didn’t :)However, think about it from another angle, do you know of any fellow taggers that have been mashed by tube trains? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/6267889.stmNot only does it seem a terrible waste and tragedy just for the thrill of seeing your name crudely daubed in dripping spray or marker paint but does anyone give thought to the effect of the poor tube driver who hits them…or the attendees to the scene that have to pick up the bits…I’m all for expressing yourself but a few canvasses and some materials come a lot cheaper than loss of life and clean up bills. And yes my tax is wasted on virtually everything as I make little demand on public services…C’est le Vie

So do I right now mate :angry:Actually no…still love 'em, just have to wear my pain with pride like the Hammers supporters :stuck_out_tongue:

Banksy is an artist whatever you say brilliant to look at:D

This is one of my recent favourites:)

yeah saw that on the news but now i see that as just graffiti.

i see the point though.

im an ex graffitti artist…but never used to tag tho…didnt like just spraying my name around the shop and most tags you couldnt understand anyways…

i was more of a peice/murual guy…;).

good on yer banksy…at least he gets his message accross…

smiled:D.

I don’t understand the entire graffitti “culture”…it’s just plain vandalism…IMHO.

You wake up tomorrow morning to find someone has painted something (leaving the “artistic merits”, or lack thereof) out of the discussion on the side of your home…or office…or business…and it’s on YOUR nickel to have it cleaned off…how would you feel?

Pissed right off, right?

It’s an unjustifiable attack on the personal property of someone else…and should be treated accordingly.

Agreed on the whole but many people would pay a lot of money to have Banksy paint something on their house:cool:

Absolutely agree, it’s no different to me deciding to draw some funny cartoon on your bike . . . valdalism. If they want to draw on walls they should go buy some of their own or rent them for a while.

Have no time at all for mindless tagging, but I love art which provokes thought, a nice slap around the chops with a sopping herring. Be it on a gallery wall or on the side of a building.

And Banksy’s recent works have all been WITH the permission of the landowner (e.g. the yellow lines going into a flower - see pic above).

Where I live, there used to be a lot of Banksys around, but the council, and landowners, have removed a lot of them. So now he gets permission, and the works stay up, and everyone’s happy.

well with writers getting hit by trains, yes i know a few including the recent ones :frowning: i have had soem close calls, but teh same in some respects could be said about bikes hooning round on teh road and getting mashed when they have an off, the poor sod in teh car they hit, the traffic officer that has to clean up teh mess and inform realtives…works all ways mate.when i used to paint i had ‘rules’ i never touched personal property, houses and cars etc or places of worship.its hard to explain why people do it, its the buzz of sneaking onto tracks at night or into a train yard…to try to get the time to get up and execute a good clean piece( can take up to an hour or two, while ******** yourself that you may get nabbed), to get respect from your peers for it, to evade getting caught, theres many reasons why many of wich unless you are immersed in the culture you will never understand. i bit liek trying to explain to someone why you go fast on your bike or even why you ride when teh person in question doesnt ride and sees it as pointless or ay too dangerous.good healthy debte this, i like it:cool:

It cost the Tube operating companies around £12m in 2006 to deal with this vandalism. This covered removal, extra security, trains out of service etc etc. Your buzz means more expensive Oyster cards all round :ermm:We all like a little bit of risk, but last I looked riding bikes or bungy jumping wasn’t illegal…But you’re right, this is a good topic for debate. I’m a master debater me, sometimes up to 4-5 good debates on a lazy Sunday
