Mrs. Stevie Ramone baked a load of raspberry and white chocolate muffins for my colleagues at work today and not having a topbox, I didn’t fancy riding around with a big tin of cakes in my back pack…
I kinda reckoned it would be Sod’s Law that if I did, it would be the one day that I fall off and land on me back, with a big metal tin between me back and the tarmac - not worth risking 
So, I got the train to work instead - a one day return ticket cost me £13.90 (nearly 2 weeks petrol in the bike!!!) and then it dawned on me - I could’ve gone to Greggs and bought 5 times the number of cakes required for my colleagues for the same price as the train fare…
Which just goes to show, you can’t have your cake and eat it :crazy:
But they wouldn’t have tasted as good as the ones she made (hope you’ve saved some for all of us)

I was thinking that. Must be a 10 cc half engine - half cycle
That amount sounds about right to me… if you travel 100 miles on a 200cc bike with a tank full costing £7, depending on how hard you accelerate…
Hehe… I’ve got a Honda CBF125 - super economical
I commute to work 4 days a week (only work Mon-Thurs) and it’s about a 50mile round trip, so 200 commuting miles each week (400 miles for 2 weeks commuting)
Then I get out and do about 50 miles riding for fun on the weekends, so add another 100 miles on for 2 weekends and we’re at 500 miles in total.
A full tank costs about £8.50 and I get about 275 miles out of that so I do 2 weeks on less than 2 tanks of petrol.
The train ticket cost £13.90 and 2 tanks of petrol costs £17, but I’ll get another 50 miles on top of the 2 weeks, so give or take a quid, it’s about right
The Daily Telegraph review reckoned you could get 134mpg on a commuting journey.
The best thing is, the money I save on the train fare actually pays for the finance on the bike AND the insurance with a few pennies to spare.
