You are all invited to join in this one...

Dear LB’ers

Me and my friends have organized our usual pre-Hastings run which will start 10:00am on FRIDAY 14th APRIL (GOOD FRIDAY) From Box Hill to Hastings through coastal roads, the ride goes through really nice bends and twisties, and spectacularly picturesque sceneries and there will be the usual stops for coffees, including a Brighton wonder… (it’s the done thing, y’know, Madeira Drive etc.)

Anyone interested to join this ride please put your name and your bike down the list below so i will know who to look for on the day… (any bike is welcome, rider essential)

  1. GixxerSteve (GSXR750) HEADING THE RIDE
  1. Hyperlink (R1)

  2. SlapheadBandit (Bandit1300)

  3. TeddiBair (XT660X)

  4. Buck (XT660X)

  5. Myself (XT660X or mystery courtesy bike, mine’s due for service about that time)

  6. Buck’s mate (R1)

  7. Lara Croft (SV650 or XT660?)

  8. Dave&wife (SV1000)

  9. Jimbo (some italian bike… not a ducati but very similar, cagiva maybe? oh its red i know that much and oh… it goes like the clappers too!!)

Great ! I won’t be in UK cap. but it sounds really nice! Have fun and take care out there guys

I’m interested, but don’t count me in just yet…

How long do you reckon it would take me to get down to Box Hill from N10?

It’s my first ride out, so is it an all day thing? Round trip back to Box Hill?

More info might just convince me.

Jolyon

PS. I’m on a BMW F650 btw.

I’m interested too. Also my friends Sunny (and maybe Tracey and maybe Barry), but don’t count us in just yet either. Will let you know in a day or two.

Assuming that by N10, you mean somewhere around Tottenham, then have a look at this link which suggests that by car you are looking at a trip of about 1 hour and 10 minutes = 70 minutes in an ideal non traffic world. If you are good at filtering take 20% off that time and 70 minutes become 56 minutes just under an hour then.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&hl=en&saddr=n10+3rt&daddr=Box+Hill,+Surrey,+KT20, I suggest you can safely set off from home at about 08:30.

Yes it is a round trip back to box hill and last year we started at about 10:00 and got home by 7pm

Everyone who went enjoyed it cause it was just a easy pace ride not a race in anyway or form.

Sounds like a wicked run, unfortunately its my week end to be a dad.

Cheers for the link CaptMoto.

Just did my Bike Safe course today, was chatting with some of the guys and they said much the same about time from N10 (Muswell Hill btw) to Box Hill.

Sounds like a laugh, count me in. Might even 2 up depending on whether the girlfriends dad makes it over to us or not.

After todays rides and meeting other people interested in bikes I figure it’s worth giving one of these ride outs a go.

See you on Friday unless otherwise told.

Jolyon

PS. I got your e-mail address from your site and asked for specifics, hope that’s alright.

what time will you be back, my dog will be on its own from 3pm and if i leave it to long it will start to destroy the house???

About 7pm…ish flatout, and as for the dog… do like what this bloke did

mine dont sit still long enough to tie it down. nice idea though

I seriously reccommend this one, we did it last year and had a great time. It is a long day but well worth it. Gives you a great opportunity to get really used to your bike. Odd trips here and there and long motorway journeys (mostly what I do!) don’t tune you into the bikes handling and performance.

On a personnal note it would be great to meet a few more of you lot!

Ok guys we now have about 10 defiinte and a few maybe’s

This message is for all those who are joining us on this ride:

Dear friends, I can’t stress enough the following statement:

The intention of this ride is to have a safe, sensible and fun day out, those who take place will be responsible for their own actions and must have in mind the safety of the other riders and vehicles as well as their own at all times

We don’t expect to have people showing off or riding to impress beyond their abilities.

This is not a race and those who will attempt to ride in a dangerous manner will be kindly asked to continue their ride away from the group and on their own.

Myself and Gixxer-Steve who are organizing and heading this ride will not accept any responsibility for people binning their bikes through their own fault and I declare that this forum is in no way responsible for eventual accidents as it serves only the purpose of displaying the intention of our get together and the organization of the ride. I am of the understanding that all your bikes are insured, taxed and roadworthy otherwise you might as well stay at home and have your easter egg instead

Our tail gunner is a certified first aider and will carry a first aid kit which is meant only for minor cuts and grazes. Anything bigger will be dealt by professional paramedics and lets hope we won’t need to resort to that.

Look forward to see you all on BoxHill 09:45am sharp - the rides starts at 10:00am, we will wait the customary 15 minutes for late arrivals anything after that is considered a no-show and we are off.

PMSL… Thats so cool with the dog… I have taken my pet rat out on the bike… He sits in my inside pocket…
