Hi Folks, my name is Alan and as you can probably tell by the size of machine am new to riding, I have at the moment a Yamaha YBR 125, but am thinking of changing to the Kymco KR Sport 125 any comments or advice gratefully received
Hey.
Welcome to the forum.
Just wondering why you want to change.
The build quality on the Yamaha will most likely be better than the Kymco, and the Yam would most likely be more reliable.
On a first bike especially, these things are important.
Alan, do not change! I am a Motorcycle Instructor and see lots of different 125s that students bring in to do their test on. The YBR is a great little bike, second only the the great Honda CG125 and is capable of meeting the speed requirement on the Module 1. I have had 2 students, on their own Kymco Sports and both failed module one, as not able to go fast enough. Too heavy and badly geared. I know they look good compared to a YBR but plenty of time to get yourself a bike that is more of a looker. Save your pennies, do your test and have a much bigger choice of bike.:w00t:
Thats very good advice, hope he takes it.
+1 to the YBR
Not the best looking wee bike, but its reliable, economical and handles quite well.
I’m half tempted to go back to one now my commute no longer uses any roads with a speed limit of over 40
