l live this model - yamaha v star 250 http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2010models/2010-Yamaha-VStar250.htm
but why we cant get those in uk? its younger than virago, slimmer than dragstar and stronger than YBR Customs…AND impossible to find here ugh!
The UK doesn’t have a large enough cruiser market to justify a bike that doesn’t fit with the current licence restrictions. 250cc is too big for L-plates and too small even for A2. I ride an A2 compatible 903cc Kawasaki VN900 Custom which only puts out 35kw and 70mph is pushing it a bit. I can imagine a 250 V-Star being fun as a city bike or as a learner bike in the USA where the next step is a Harley but as a “cruiser” its going to struggle. Smallest capacity new cruiser in the UK from the big 4 plus HD is Honda’s 750cc Shadow. I’m not a big guy but even my 275kg VN900 is easy to handle so I wouldn’t even consider a cruiser bike smaller than the Yamaha Dragstar 650.
