Yamaha R1 stolen - Monday 27th Oct

Blue Yamaha R1, LJ57 WDO.

Parked just outside City of London Uni (Wyclif Street/Northampton Square) in a motorcycle bay. Google map view here Wyclif/Northampton Sq

Sometime between 10am-6:30pm. Wasn’t locked to anything, just alarm/immobiliser and parked directly under a CCTV camera.

Police have been helpful and are looking into the CCTV but say there’s not much chance of seeing it again.

Be aware if you’re around that area, it’s the first time I ever parked there, rarely in that part of London on the bike.

sounds like the same area BigRedS had his tiger 800 nicked from. it was found in a back garden nearby.

That’s not really anywhere near where the tiger was. But, yeah, still completely worth a walk round the local estates to see if anyone’s stashed it anywhere. Mine was found exactly like that, and it was taken from a bay surrounded by council estates.

Holy sh!t that was where I was going to park a few weeks ago for a speed awareness course around the corner… ended up on bus to be on the safe side…!

Hope you get some results from the CCTV.

Another bike stolen, crap.

Hope the police have any luck with the cctv!

The police closed the case in a couple of days citing lack of evidence. This was in front of the automatic plate recognition cameras in the City!
There would be plenty of evidence and a huge fine if I had committed a traffic violation! Makes my blood boil!!!

Apologies. Thought this was my thread.
Another R1 gone.
Sorry for your loss. Hope insurance pays out.

hehe no probs… yeah got a letter from the police stating lack of anything to go on so they’re passing to borough for investigation.

I don’t suppose the Uni have any real reason/motive to help out with the CCTV.

Fingers crossed the insurance will at least help out with getting me enough for a new bike.

Speed awareness…not you, surely?

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I never understand the point of cctv. I’ve been in a situation where there was clear cctv evidence (shop card fraud) but according to the police there wasn’t enough evidence? what’s the point then?
If you do your own camera and present that you violate their human rights.

Good luck with finding it or getting a new bike.
