working on my cd175's

hey guys
im looking for battery and manual and maybe some other bits
for the cd’165’s i bought off icebox ,
theres more info in the parts /accessories section
but i thought id put a post here , seen as people check this section more often
will put some pics up once i start working on it
thnx

This should be interesting, i,ve had 3 cd 175’s in the past and taught myself
about engines by rebuilding an early cd engine in my bedroom, i think they’re great little bikes .
But this is most definitely f.f’s project and she wants to do it herself , i think that makes me a technical consultant
Most importantly this will be an absolute budget rebuild, handmade gaskets and cables, and visits to bootsales, that sort of thing. originality is not gonna
feature very highly.
hopefully she will be legally able to ride it when she gets it sorted:)
She is very much still at the learning how to use handtools stage so as i said…should be interesting…

lol can use them ,
just cant remember their names :stuck_out_tongue:

See if you can get hold of a CB175 cylinder head and carbs. The CD had a single carb and was a bit strangled… Unleash the beast from within…lol:D

You’ve named your tools? How cute :P:D

Harry the Hammer and Suzie Screwdriver:D:D:D

moley grips is her favourite:)

Might see you at one of these then

Just adopt 'em

Much respect for doing the job yourself!

lol yeah i want to work on it myself ,
only reason why id be proud of riding an old small bike :stuck_out_tongue:
hopefully my enthusiasm wont run out too quickly!

:DGive us a shout if you do go to kempton, can say Hi

So thats me, Pat and FishFace who read Classic Motorcycle Mechanics then?;)

some progress made:
got a battery , dad bought me one on the way home from work
and then connected it , and sorted some wiring out and got the lights working .
then put some oil in and petrol n checked the points n cleaned the plugs .
then finally got it started

brum brum

now its running gunna take it to pieces
n clean it up
check out the engine inside
and other things so it doesnt break as soon as i get riding it
:stuck_out_tongue:
oh and gotta get it to mot standard

Well done

whats next, a USD front end conversion and a gsxr subframe?

I passed my test on a CD175 many moons ago, and i think i might have some info on it somewhere, and i think ive got a couple of indicator lens knocking about if they are any good. I’ll have a scout around;)
