Thursday’s SV is full of joy. After getting knocked about by a scoot earlier, it’s now refusing to start, and I’d be jaded too after a day like that.
Battery’s fine, horn’s nice and loud, lights all light and everything else seems fine.
Ignition button does nothing
a) Kill Switch busted
b) Solenoid Screwed
c) Side Stand Switch iffy
d) Slide bar under clutch “corroded”
either way there’s a recovery truck on the way.
Hurrah for warranties.
you do know you have to hold the clutch in… don’t you???
Does it have an immobiliser?? (please don’t say Meta)
my clutch switch went on my sv so i just looped the wire.
Most common prob would be clutch or side stand switch.
Best way to check is to short the leads.

Is it in gear? Even when you pull the clutch it, if it’s in gear, it wont start. Well, that’s the case with the new shape SVthou. Good safety feature, but makes you think… what tha f***!
The clutch switch had previously been bridged, badly. That seems to be the main cause.
