a ride up the Flint Hills Scenic Byway to Manhattan is definitely in order!
I can’t wait to tear that road up again. (And having lunch with the uber hot college co-eds at Kansas State University in Manhattan isn’t a bad deal either.

It’s ok for some, we’re riding to Liverpool for a 30th birthday party. Ride there Saturday, get hammered and ride back Sunday. With a spot of seeing the outlaws thown in when we can. The weather looks ok though with 18 - 19 degrees being forcast.
Gregman… You lucky son of a gun!!! We have got rain forcast for the next couple of days, It’s grey and wet… typical London… Boo Hoo…
cold and raining over here . . . . no danger of making yourself popular Mr Gregman
At least there’s no aussies on the board, as far as i can make out it hasnt rained once down there since 1974
I look at the cool bike scene you guys enjoy in London (something that is desperately lacking in KS, for the most part) with a great deal of envy…so you guys can spot me a nice day every now and then, right? ![]()
I had the last two days off work & the weather was fine, so I did some riding! ![]()
OK then, just so long as you send us over some of those “uber hot college co-eds at Kansas State University in Manhattan” . . . then it is fair
“I had the last two days off work & the weather was fine, so I did some riding!”
sssssh, so did I, but everybody from Calais and beyond thinks we spend 9 months/12 in a raincloud, I am just going for the sympathy vote . . . . think about those co-eds SP…
in fact i made it in today 30 secs after the rain started, the last few days have been amazing, 18 deg C last night !
I’ll see what I can do… LOL
I disagree. ![]()
Anywhere between 16-22 degrees is spot on biking weather in my book. Errr dry of course.
Bring it on…
There’s nothing wrong with riding in the rain! It’s good practice!
Oh Jay, I wish I fell the same way of you… Live would be much easier in this island…
I found rain very depressing and I just can’t have fun…
but I didn’t born here so I understand you have never had other choice eh? ![]()
I’ve only ridden in the rain once…and only because I got caught out on the Flint Hills Scenic Byway when a storm blew in and I had to get home. Given a choice, I would not ride in those conditions.
I love it because everyone slows down, and I speed up!
Rear-wheel steering is good practice for the track. That’s what I keep telling myself anyhow.
Cezar, if I went to Brazil, I’m sure I wouldn’t have any trouble fitting in, stop complaining you light-weight ![]()
Weather forecast over the pond looks rather good unlike here. Lets hope the weather system dumps its stuff over the next couple of weeks and then dries up for when i am back on 2 wheels.
I had to ride home in the rain this morning from work it was pouring down.
It can be good fun but it’s just the numtee’s in there cars with the windows misted up the pee me off, do they see ya, do they heck.![]()
I agree, though for my ride, it ends up as a game of cat and mouse. I’ve grown to really like the wet, it’s surprising how hard you can ride in the rain, it’s all in the head!
defo - did brands in full on wet, amazing how much grip you actually have
however, rain and manhole covers = nasty ![]()
It wasn’t so much the lack of confidence in grip that destroyed my enjoyment of the ride…it was all the “other stuff” that came along with it…soggy gloves affecting my grip on the controls, rain on the outside and fog on the inside of my visor affecting visibility etc etc…
I’ll admit it, I’m a “fair weather” rider. If the forecast calls for rain, my bike stays in the garage. LOL
