Winter Gloves

Im looking for a pair of gloves for everyday use through winter so must be warm and waterproof - what do you use/recommend?

Ta

Revitt SP Flights.

Excellent about £55 quid.

Ride & commute all year without heated grips.

For normal winter day`s i use my Racer waterproof gloves but if the weather is very cold i use Alpinestar .

All the tests seem to like the Hein Gericke ones that make you look like a lobster:w00t:

You know, the ones with 2 fingers and a thumb:)

I’ve got a pair of the lobster jobbies for winter and they are warm. However they do lack some protection. I still wear them though.

im gonna get a set of lobster claws for winter, ive still got my goretex dainese gloves from last year, they are brilliant!

i would go for the alpinestar jet road gore-tex £79.99a really warm glove,100% waterproof with a good feel to them, can feel the levers and the throttle ok.

we sell them at rex judds and you get 15% off as an LB member 020 7328 7659 at west hampstead and dont forget to say you are from LB,

but honestly they really are good gloves

Tee hee, already looking at winter gear huh???

What I’d like is a glove that is designed for use with heated grips, ie. well insulated on the top, sides & cuffs whilst having a thinner palm & bottom part of the fingers to allow the warmth from the grips through & give better feeling.

It’s amazing how quickly you can go off someone:P:Whistling:

I hate them, just didn’t get on with them. I also had a pair of the four fingered version but they only just lasted the winter before the lining came away from the rest of the glove.I currently have some Richa Carbons which are quite cheap (£35 I think) and are OK, relatively warm, quite long lasting, but a bit short on feel.

Cheers for all the replies - I cant see myself wearing those lobster claw things, I think they’d hinder me somehow, remind me of some gloves i had when I was kid :)Im gonna for the Alpinestars I think, do you have all colours and sizes in stock mate - if so I’ll just pop in or do is it best to call beforehand?

mark they only come in black,

jet road gore-tex we have all sizes so come and claim your LB discount

wot about the silk underglove for just tha cold are they any good ?

silk gloves only really work well if your gloves are loose as it is the heat from your hands that warms the air in the gloves if there is no air(ie silk gloves taking up the tiny space in the gloves)they will not work.

and also the gloves become very tight, which will cut of the circulation in the fingers.

just get a really good pair of gloves as the will last years if you dont come off.

I really like the silk undergloves. They’re very thin, so unless you wear your gloves really tight already they work fine in my experience. And £ for £ (they’re only about a tenner iirc) they’re the best improvement you can get. If you’ve already got gloves which are waterproof but not warm enough, I’d spend a tenner on silk inners before I spent lots on some new gloves.

For real winter long rides, I use the HG winter gloves. As someone’s said above, they might not last above one winter without some leaking somewhere, but they are VERY warm and they’re cheap (so you can get two pairs and keep one drying out under your seat for long journeys).

I’ve never found a pair of winter gloves that are totally waterproof (i.e. prolonged 4 or 5 hours in the pouring rain and still keep your hands dry). If anyone can suggest a pair that are truly 100% w’proof then please do.
