I’m a grown man and I’m sitting here trying my hardest not to cry about this story (litrally holding back my tears).
If you had read this from the begining you would know that it was absoultly discusting and whenever I see the follow ups it just makes me sick…

I felt the bile rising and tasted vomit in the back of my throat when I read some of the elements of this case that the media are currently bound to suppress due to various court orders preventing reporting of the whole story.
Believe me, it just gets worse … and worse …

I think it just goes to show the government policy of training social workers in the classroom rather than in the real world is crap. I think the social worker should be put on trial as well - after all how stupid or naive would you have to be to believe the mothers story - or was she/he just another lazy body that couldn’t be bothered to do her job? In any case it is down to them as much as the parents. At the very least they should be struck off and never allowed to work with children again.
Hmm bit harsh there i think hegerty…the child was abused by the parents not the social worker…she had been arrested twice, the facts are not clear but I suspect the mother was more capable of hiding the bruises and pains of the baby than the social worker was of finding them…
social workers are damned if they do and damned if they dont, it seems incredulous that they dont take more care over the baby but they are not doctors they are social workers…if she had suspected anything then she would have to call in the police I assume, I am not at all sure if she would have the right to inspect the baby without some form of parental agreement or court order or something…

I think most of us are unware about the fact that this is a reoccurance incident that happens again and again. Usually parents seek attention, disorders name is Munchausen by Proxy.
I was once shown a pathologist photo colection of the various dead poeple and how they were murdered. The on that stuck out with a 4 year old girl. Her parent starved her to death, but covered it up by placing layers of clothing underneath her out clothing. I was shown the difference, and you couldn’t tell the difference.
It’s not the social workers fault, esp if she only been round a couple of times.
Problem is, these bloody morons screw it up for the rest of us, other rather other parents who dearly love their children, but should they slap their child on the wrist under trying circumstances, they end up getting locked away.
