You might or might not know but mid Aug my other half hit a car when the woman driver decided to do a u-turn at the last minute, and he had nowhere to go, smashed his new busa up and ended up with sore gonads where they hit the tank…
He exchanged details (later, he went to see her and her husband) and made sure she was ok with him paying for her damage etc…he said there was no need in trying to do anything from his side cos he hit her from behind so he would be classed the one to blame…fair enough.
Long story short…yesterday we get a letter stating shes now claiming for
When the ol man went round to take pics of what little damage their was to the quarter panel of the drivers side of her car, they were both up on ladders phuking decorating the house !!!
Now call me dumb (i can take it ) BUT…we are not prepared to pay for your BLEEP house decor you pair of pricks !!!
What a pair of ***ts ! Ive told him to get in contact with his insurers again, and tell them what a crock of shite this new claim is…err, i went to the docs the other day for my holiday jabs? didnt hurt at the TIME but my arms killing me now…shall i put in a claim against my doc cos i cant use my left arm properly? i might well have headaches, feel sick errr oh and have a bad neck where i have to keep leaning over to massage my left shoulder…FFS !! There was naff all wrong with the woman oh and i forgot to add? her PASSENGER on the day is saying the same thing, when, he didnt even touch her side of the car and it was THEIR fault cos she decided to do a u-turn when she should have driven up a few more yards to turn at the RIGHT place and come back on herself…at this moment i WISH she would come back on herself…right up her own jacksy !!!
Why did your husband not want to go through insurance ? U-turns mean she would be held at least 50% liable. He would also have prevented any further liability like this.
I’d report it to the insurance company asap because if she is successful with her claims for headache (gets a Dr to confirm), whiplash etc you could be looking at substantial costs to pay out.
But people do lie, it’s the new moral code, seems to be to lie to get the most you can, deny responsibility etc.
Harsh lesson this one, but in future…just dont trust some-one you dont know. Its made worse by the fact your husband tried to do what he thought the right thing was, hope it resolves in your favour though
Have you paid for her car to be fixed yet??? if not, proabaly best to go back thought the insurance. But i’m sure even if you didn’t go through the insurance for the car damages, as long as you have legal cover, they still can cover you.
my brother got a letter once when he was driving down the road in icy conditions and a car pulled out of him and stopped in the road once he saw my brother coming. My brother attempted to stop but obviously slid down the road until they collided.
the guy was claiming whiplash and all sorts of other crap even though it was his fault!!! muppet! nothing happened in the end
Been there, got the t-shirt… 5mph collision (Car vs. Car, technically my fault but how difficult is it to reverse out of a straight bit of residential road?)… Suddenly she was on the phone to some bunch of ambulance chasing shits and I was getting calls from some scouse call centre - “We understand you’ve had a bump with one of our clients”… Who are you? “X from Accidents Direct”… Told them where to go, I’d complied with the RTA and if they wanted to know anything they could speak to my insurer…
2 years later with some hilarious so called ‘proof’ and it got chucked out… She got NOTHING!
My favourite piece of evidence being the report from Mr Roy L Tubbs Independent Automotive Engineer who apparently inspected a ‘Blue’ car… interesting as the car in question was BLACK!
£1500 worth of damage to a car that was worth tops £3500 and £3000 worth of car rental as her car wasn’t roadworthy (bullshit) plus loss of earnings and compensation for her terrible suffering…
Rule 1 - Assume EVERYONE will lie, take pictures at the scene… and secure as many independent witnesses as you can…
Rule 2 - Always involve the Police where an injury is apparent or suspected…
Rule 3 - FIGHT the world is full of free loading ar£**oles, do your upmost to make sure they don’t get a penny.
Other half for some unknown reason…didnt make sure he had no claims bonus this time…doh !! So…he decided to pay them cash and pay to get his bike repaired too…we are expecting a big bill yes…but when he checked on them and told her to go and fix her car and he would pay, she told him it had gone through her insurance co…so we thought ok…then he got that letter yesterday stating shes claiming for all that crap …prob cos her damages to the car is minimal…and i mean minimal…bumper damage and i believe a dent, he reckons that couldve been there before.
Speak to Rider Support m8. If needed, advise them and your hubby’s insurance company about the woman possibly making a false claim and explain your reasons for this. Your insurance company will request a medical examination to be done and if it comes back with all those problems then tell your insurance company that you want them to ‘monitor’ the woman’s daily activities on the sly as you believe she’s committing fraud. It’s not usually done, but insurance companies have the right to perform an investigation if they believe someone is committing fraud.
When I was side swiped by the lorry I claimed for damages to my bike primarily, with a personal claim also being sought. My only reason for the personal claim was because the driver never stopped even though he knew he’d hit me…if he’s stopped and made every effort to support me I would have only requested repairs to the bike.
This woman and her husband are after a quick buck. If your hubby advises Rider Support and his insurance company what has happened then chances are they’ll make her life very difficult.
Of course, you do have another option…
You know where she lives…we could all ride over on mass and eeeerrrrrmmmmm… :Whistling:
i like the idea of the errrmmmmmm…:)We do have pics of her car see where she turned and he had nowhere to go and so hit her back bumper right on the corner there? How she and her passenger can make a claim for all that stuff is just a blatent lie ! how is she up a ladder if shes got whiplash etc ??? HE is the one that was hurt…when he hit the tank…she got out and lit a cigarette when he said are you ok she said oh yeh im fine …now all of a sudden shes got so much stuff wrong with her…all shes got wrong with her is shes a damn liar…i should go and watch what shes doing during the day and see how she walks around just fine !! :w00t: TBH i dont have time for that stuff, but its a thought !!!
I work as an insurance fraud investigator and this is all too rife, I deal with this on a daily basis. Contavt your insurer, impress on them that it was a low speed impact, and the little damage to her car and ask for it to be investigated fully. chances are they are investigating it already. Some accident managements companys, who handle insurance claims on behalf of people who have had accidents “allegedly” put people up to falsely claiming for injuries.
Although it is classed as insurance fraud, chances are that they wont take it down a criminal route as it is too common. They will probably, if they have sufficient evidence, refuse to pay her claim and that will be then end of it.
PM me if you want anymore specific info, as I could witter on about this all night.
Thanks for info…he has contacted his insurance co and they have the pics…lets hope they can stop this crap from going on…you are right its rife…it happened to my son a couple of months ago but in that case the other party did NOT get away with it after my sons insurance co sent an investigator who checked his car and saw there was no damage to his car yet the other party had already gone and got their car “repaired” …so they asked to see the receipt and what work was done, apparently the other party “didnt have it” !! unreal that these people take on these cases !! Lets see what happens…
I blame the insurance companies. Somebody drove into me a few months ago and I’ve had solicitors, medical appointments galore and I’ve not asked for any of it.
He spoke to his insurance co today and they have asked for the letter he got from their insurers, with all the claims they are making, and they told him that they are used to this happening and will now be applying to see the docs or hosp reports on the injuries they are saying they have (her and her friend). They said looking at the pics of damage to her car, there is no way whiplash could occur, the damage is minimal and shows low speed collision.
We will see the outcome. She was lumping louvre doors around when he went round to see them…stupid him though, he turned up round there in his porsche…doh…shouldve gone in the old mondeo he uses for work !!
Do u know if he goes to get his hair cut in his porsche they open the door and call him “sir” but if he goes in the old P reg mondea diesel, they ignore him !!! :w00t: who says money dont talk…speaks volumes in my eyes…
