Cheers We should be able to decide - subjectively - who has the best birthday. Frankly I think I’m kicking ass so far but I may be biassed
I’ve highlighted in the original post to filter out the crap to assist no offence Dan and Ratty but we want to see the cool people not the whole encyclopedia entry
Some cool surprises in my entry … though I already knew I shared my birthday with Howard Marks and Fidel Castro … [funny story … yonks ago I saw the Mr Nice show on my birthday and Howard announced toward the end of the show “today is both mine and Fidel’s birthday” … then my mate shouted … “it’s Chris’ birthday too” … then everyone sung … all the way through … “Happy Birthday Howard, Fidel and Chriiiis” lol so very shameful]

I think - Robin Cook , British politician (d. 2005) - trumps Ainsley but only just
On the events front you’ve got
1854 - The Republican Party of the United States is organized in Ripon, Wisconsin . 1922 - The United Kingdom accepts the independence of Egypt . 1935 - Nylon is invented by Wallace Carothers . 1940 - Basketball is televised for the first time (Fordham University vs. the University of Pittsburgh in Madison Square Garden ). 1975 - A major tube train crash at Moorgate station , London kills 43 people. 1983 - The final episode of MA S*H is broadcast in the USA , becoming the most watched television episode in history, with 106–125 million viewers in the U.S. (estimate varies by source). 1991 - The first Gulf War ends. I wonder if that record still stands for MASH or if something has beaten it since …
