Can you spot which riders and other GREAT people signed
My fantastic friends at Dread got this card made up for me at Thruxton for my birthday, it was the BEST present ever!!! (However I must admit, I got the great Murray Walkers myself while I was guest at Rizla Suzuki)
That’s blinding, what a great present! Nice one Carla! All the best, sorry we couldn’t be there, duty called. Races looked great on TV though. Is Haydon’s on there? I didn’t see it, and boy, he had enough time to sign it whilst sitting out of the races, the numpty!
No, I did see him just after race 2 but he didn’t look happy at all so I really didn’t want to bother him and ask him for it.
I will add an attachment for you tho. Photography is NOT my strongest point and its the first time with a new digicam. Plus its a HUGE attachment so feel free to delete it after you have viewed it. Its from the first corner of race one when Harris went down just infront of Haydon. I wasn’t even watching it through the view finder so i didn’t realise I even had it, I just clicked! I thing it was after this shot the bike stood back up and was going along on its own before it took Haydon out and went down again!!!
Brilliant pictures! No need to delete them, we have loadsa-space here. The poor gixxer looks like it needs some TLC. I think as well that some of the Ace Cafe Streetfighter lot would love it as it is!
Mental crash, can’t believe Suzuki are having the worst luck ever. They need to ditch Haydon pronto IMO. Shakey puts in a sterling effort, but for some reason seemed to struggle against a kid ten years younger than him, what was all that about!?
On there is
Murray Walker, Leon Haslam, Ron Haslam, Gregorio Lavilla, Ryuichi Kiyonari, John Reynolds, Micheal Rutter, Michael Laverty, Karl Harris, Dean Thomas, Dean Ellison, Shakey Byrne, Jamie Whitham, Dennis Hobbs and Nial McKenzie Plus a few others from Rizla Suzuki and trade stands How COOL is THAT!!!
Gloating over, sorry guys but I’m chuffed to hell with that one.
I’m not sure whats going to happen with Haydon, he sure looked like he was in trouble after race 2 anyway Shakey was blinding though, top guy for starting 17th and coming 5th, should’ve been 4th but it was a very exciting race between him and Rea!!!
To be honest I didn’t see much of race 2, I was watching it on the screen from the back of the Rizla garage waiting for Murray to sign a birthday card. I had just bought one for my Dad after he impressed me so much signing mine. He’s a lovely guy. I asked him when he was going to start commentating bsb and he said he was too old!!! Obviously I disagreed with him and said the sport needs him
The cheeky bugger tho, I asked if I could have a quick photo with him after he signed my card and he replied with "you can have a slow one if you like ) LOL
Met him too in the Rizla garage while waiting for Shakey (who was getting his wrist slapped over an extra lap on warm up). Called him over, he got mobbed but he signed my ticket (pictured) and is a sterling guy, if a bit deaf.
And Haydon seemed unlucky - like Harris took him out. But that’s a decent tally of bikes he’s got through in the last 10 days.
Great card, Happy Birthday to you, was at Thruxton too, but you were in the best place. Getting behind the scenes is where its at.
Bloody sardines where i was, still it was worth it.
Thought you were there somewhere Andrew, but i spent most of the time watching st the first few corners. As it turned out there was plenty of action there.
There was lot of banter going on with the crowds and marshalls who were running on the track to pick up the debris, some of them must have been deaf because we could hear the Ducatis nearing but the marshall left it late to run off the track, Gregorio Lavilla must have been startled with this orange overalled guy in the track as he came round the corner. He`d have been well and truly tangoed.
