Evenin’ all. I’m looking for a small, discrete on-board camera to use on my track bikes.
My criteria are:
small, discrete,
good picture quality up to 640 and beyond,
good frame rate,
reasonable sound quality.
I’ve got two track bikes, so it would be good to be able to transfer all the kit quickly, but if not, I’d get two cameras eventually and move the recorder.
I’ve looked at some systems around £500, but that’s too much money. Others seem to be around £150 but are pretty bulky - everything in the head unit. Ideally, I’d like a small camera that can sit in the front fairing like this:
I like the little Sony head units and ideally I’d like to have one permanently mounted on the 998 as above, switching the recorder between the 'berg and the 998.
So, any suggestions as to what’s available that fits the bill? Under, say, £400?
im sure you could hide a go pro HD pretty well if you needed to. amazing video quality at full HD, and the sound is pretty good once you’ve worked out how much sponge to use to muffle wind noise etc
You’ll have to be carefuly what type of mount you use , was at Brands and they gave the guy in front of me quite a lot of grief over his go-pro and how it was mounted.
They wanted to make sure in the event of an off it would leave crap on track and impale himself.
Have been looking for the same type of set up myself , wanted to mount inside the air intakes on the gixxer and hook up the head to a pov system.
