Which Pads and where to buy?

Hi there ,

Have been using Bendix pads on my 09 R1 and Ive got to say they were gooood… BUT… Theyre down to the metal in about 4000 miles… Im after something with a similar stopping power which lasts abit longer… can anyone recommend good pads? and where to buy them from?

Cheers, thanks for reading.

No one? anyone?

Designed for moderate to heavy bladder weakness, these pants are the most absorbent product in the Pants range, providing maximum security and comfort. Worn like normal underwear, they are available in 3 sizes.

I would notmally think that Bendix ones are the best? ive yet to try a set on my triumph, but otherwise EBC. i GUESS IT ALSO DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH YOU USE THE FRONT BRAKES?

Are you using the road pads (MF) or track compund (MRR)?

I use Bendix MRR pads and they’re brilliant road and track, much better than anything else I’ve tried and not expensive. They offer lots of feel and don’t seem to wear quickly either considering the hammering they can get.

You’ve got an 09 R1, so why make it less fun with inferior longer lasting pads?

agree with B, i have used bendix MRR’s for the last four years (both road bikes and race bikes) and cant fault them. you can either have good brakes, or long lasting brakes. so what if they last 4kmiles? a set of good pads will cost a lot less than the stoved in front of your R1 because you couldnt stop as quickly

brembo is the way in my opinion if talking about after market ones, but I find my OEM pads on gixer being very good aswell

the brembo pads i have tried are no better than the bendix (despite costing almost 40% more like for like) and OEM brakes good on a GSXR? really? a sports bike that has always been renowned for usually having the worst brakes in their respective classes. you aint using them hard enough

I didn’t say brakes are good, I said pads  But OEM pads with race braided lines + Brembo MC are good enough to outbrake most of the bikes on track.

I know it’s probably too late now! But SBS street excels are superb. Instant stopping power from cold, no fade & I have used them all summer with little wear. But best of all they are a good price compared to the others! I paid £38 for both sides!
I believe a few Irish road racers swear by them including a Mr M Dunlop!
