SO im getting a all in one suite made up and due to my height and big shoulders a struggle to fit off the peg stuff and i have drawn it down to 2 options.
The first is wolf - there leathers are really nice i have a 2 piece which im happy with and so i would happily get a one piece from them. The cost for a custom is about £599
The second is Arcon - They are supposed to be excellent, and they use really good armour, they are great value and LB wrote a great review on them but i dont know much about them.
Suite will be about 599-699 depending.
I want it for doing track days and summer runs around the country!!
I can’t comment on Arcon or Wolf as I’ve not used them but the Scott are way better quality than my Dainese I have now . . . and there’s a good chance I’ll fit into the Scott better than I do the Dainese ! :w00t:
If you go up there, have a look at Held gloves, another level up from anything else I’ve seen. Phantom and Titan
Wolf are great;)
Arc-on seem to be nice quality and have’nt heard anything bad yet:)
Scott…:crazy:hmmmmmmmmm if you want to waste time sending them back again and again in the vain hope they might fit you then go for it but i would’nt waste my money besides their overpriced…
If you could get off the peg…Alpinestars all the way;)
I’ve personally got a made to measure suit by Scott leathers. Got measured up at the tail end BMF show by them, gave them the design I wanted and it was delivered 6-7 weeks later. Full 1 piece suit, Knox protection all through, hump on the back, my own design delivered for £700.
Had a bit of a drama with themselves (see the praise and shame section) however the suit is fantastic. Fits well, although the protection padded bits do need a bit of adjusting so they fit correctly however this is simple to fix.
I’ve heard somebody else suggest that on this site but a few mates have had Scott made to measure and they got it right first time. One of them did want some alterations as he er . . . expanded a bit one year and they did it reasonably swiftly.
I’ll have to wait and see It’s due in a couple of weeks.
My Alpinestars suit is not bad, the leather is a bit thin and the stitching isn’t great but it was cheap
Well I’ve passed the thread onto arc-con man Ian so mebbe there’ll be an option to nip over and see him and the gear in the flesh shortly.
Scott, well I’ve had mine for years now and it’s been fine, they even altered it for new colours a couple of years ago. Yes there can be problems with fit, I do think they give too much concentration to the racers and that detracts from the customer service.
Wolf I think are great too, used a 2 piece for years without failure (zip handles apart) and would buy another without fail.
Wolf gets my vote, had my one piece made to measure from Harpers in Forest Gate. Haven’t had any problems and three years on are still looking like new. (Rixxy, you saw them when we met at Essential Rubber a couple of months ago, you were getting a new tyre)
