Which H7 bulbs?

So, the lights on my S-Wing suck on unlit roads at night. I want to replace them, but I don’t really want to go HID (expense, complications, questionable legality, etc). So I want to put in a “better” bulb and see if that improves things enough. The question is - which one?

The one’s I’m considering are:

Mtech Cosmos Blue
Philips Power2Night GT150
Osram Nightbreaker Plus

Anyone have any opinions on these three, or suggestions for others?

Cheers,

-simon

I’d go with Phillips.
I remember 2 different Phillips bulb came out top in a Ride Magazine group test.

One was the H4 Xteme-Power.
I forgot what H7 won.

^^^^ i remember that test too. But I went for HIDs, the uprated bulbs were not cheap anyway

Hrm, damn, found a HID kit for half the price I was expecting:

Anyone used hids4u?

It’s in this months issue, which I happen to have on my desk:

Best Buy - Phillips X-treme power (H4 & H7)

Ride Recommended - Phillips XT Moto (H4), Osram night racer (H4), Phillips Motovision (H7)

Aldis are great for something like 3.49 a pair, but they only come around every so often. I ended up with a HID kit on my bike this time though…

HID is the best light 5000K. But be carefull if you have a projector in the headlight. HID’s can throw the light out in funny directions and light peoples house roofs up. HIDs all the way if you want proper light.

I’d agree with 5000k, I was told 6000 but it’s a little too ‘blue’ on completely unlit roads at night, makes things kinda blur like those night vision ‘green’ scenes in predator.
