Which documents should I have with me when riding (in case I get stopped)?
I believe that driving license is enough, but should I have insurance certificate, MOT certificate etc??

I only ever have the card part of the license and that does fine. Even if you don’t have that you’ll get a producer and asked to show the rest at your local station within 3 weeks.
Got all my docs with me at all times.
Got a nice A6 size plastic wallet that fits nicely in the inside pocket of my jacket
I just carry my driving licence. Usually by the time they’ve pulled you over, they know who you are, if you have insurance, inside leg measurement etc…
Wow, first time I’ve heard that - log book and all?
That’ll be handy if they get lost or stolen. 
i only take my licence etc when go out on a long run.
Exactly what I was thinking, someone could argue the bike was sold on?
There is no legal obligation to carry any,and if you’re licensed and insured in Britain everything(should)will be on the Police National Computer anyway!!
In Uk it is that you are supposed to have your licence and insurance and MOT papers but in reality they give you 10 days to produce them if they are not already in the computer…
Abroad then you definitely need them along with the new fluorescent jacket…does that apply to bikes…anyone know…

Only ever carry the card bit of my licence. Easier to replace than the whole lot of lost or stolen. Also works good as a form of identification if ever needed.
As mentioned they can find out all the rest by themselves …but ive had them tell me ive got no insurance. On my insistance that I did they said that they could be wrong ? Erm… no mate you are wrong !! Didnt say that but still got a 30 quid fine for a sexy numberplate.
In Italy you need all the documents and for sure if you drive a car you also need the fluorescent jacket, not sure you need it when ride a motorcycle

I believe that in the UK that you do not have to carry anything with you, as if you are stopped you are given a producer.
All that means is that you have to produce the documents that you asked for at your nominated police station within 10 days.
So you only have to take them with you, if you are going away for more than 10 days.
as above you dont need to carry any documents with you and I never carry any except my card license.
And regarding the fluo jacket law in France up to three weeks ago I saw hardly anybody wearing them …and I mean like maybe 1 in 30 (they probably used to wear them before)
This is the first that I have heard of in France, as I own a property in France, and ride over here (I am in France at the moment).
I know that in Switzerland that if you own a car you have to have a fluo jacket, but have not heard about this in France.
you need to wear it in case of a break down and while you wait for assistance, or until you solved the problem with your car/bike

Ok maybe I was misinformed as I was told the law had changed and that you must wear the jacket while riding…doh !
I will pop down the road and see the local police - about 200 meters away.
However, I cannot guarantee that they will be there, as they only seem to be there in the summer and winter season, and it is off season now.

In cars, you need the jacket to use in case of an accident. On bikes, you don’t have to wear a jacket when riding normally, but I’m not sure whether you’re supposed to have one in case of accidents.
(I tend to wear one when riding abroad anyway. Reckon I’ve got to give our Euro brothers and sisters plenty of warning that there’s a British Buffoon on their lovely roads ;0))
