Where to service my gixxer k5 ?

Hi friends,

Just had a quote from metropolis in vauxhall of 4/500 quid for a 7500 mile service on my k5. Sounds insane to me. Anyone recommend a good mechanic/dealer/workshop that they’ve had a good experience with. Not overly bothered about them having the right stamp in the book rather have a good reliable mechanic

I wouldn’t take a bike to Metropolis in Vauxhall from my experience (and loads others on here).

Try Southern Cross Motorcycles in Kilburn. They take pride in their work and get the job done.

do it yourself. Its a piece of pi$s. Oil and filter. Air filter and spark plugs. Check and top radiator/clutch/brake resevoirs, tyre pressures, check all fasteners and bolts, pads for wear then oil and tension your chain. £60 - £120 (if you need pads) it ll take you a full day if you have never done it before. Three hours if you always do it.

Tell Metropolis to far cough. I wouldnt take a bike in there even if I had nicked it.

ive used them years ago but a guy showed me how to do it myself now i refuse to pay someone else to do something that any retard could do. except on my new bike that is under warranty. . And i kicked off in there too ! "£65 an hour ? Fck off ! Im an engineer and i dont get paid that much, i could have done what your guy just did, faster probably and we both know it" (quickly followed by a bill reduction) those mv agustas look nice but the dealers know what to charge. . Wait till i turn up with all my own genuine parts next time. . .f*ckers try charging me £28 for an oil filter again. . . Ill only fall for that once !
