does any one kow where i can take my four year old to learn to ride his bike he is fed up with washing it;)
If you find anywhere Slysi I’d love to know, I have the same problem.
There used to be a place in Dartford but I’m not sure if it’s still there… probably a housing estate now:blink:
When I was a kid there was a place in Dartford run by some bloke called Dave Taylor…I went a few times. It’s definately gone now…If someone does find somewhere organised where a 4/5yr old can have a go I’d be interested
see loads of kids riding around that place under the M2 Medway bridge.
You can always ask in there.
I’m sure they’d be very accommodating
:ermm:
quality picture btwmy son lost interest in bikes at 10 because he was fed up of riding them over areas of dirt ,that’s all i did when i was his age. Tottenham marshes was brilliant back then for a bit of off roading or trials just like Junior Kickstart. Not the same nowadays, well not round here anyway. (unless you live in a caravan that is…)
I was after something a bit more…erm… legal & organised:)When I win the lottery jackpot I’m going to buy a bit of finest Kentish countryside and open it up to kids on bikes… there’s nowhere these days where you can go legally and learn to ride…
i thought I’d add a couple of my eldest washing his bike a couple of years ago
I don’t know if this might help, but when I did the Barry Johnson Yamaha Off Road School, there was a baby track next to the main track. It’s in sussex, a bit of a way from you, but maybe you have a trailer?
I saw some parents with kids letting them ride round this baby track and some of the children were really young. This obviously wasn’t part of the main ‘Off Road Day’ and I don’t think it’s advertised on the website, but you might want to get in touch with them and ask. You can google the Yamaha Off Road School, then get a number and e mail address. It might not be available (and I wondered if the kids were the instructors kids or something) but it might worth having a chat with Barry and the school to see if they have anything available for your lad. If they don’t they might have contacts or people they know who can help.
Good luck

Vic allan training, near tolworth on the A3/A240 junction. He will have to wait another half a lifetime (for him) to go there though as they only go from 6 years up…but give them a call and see. Also known as the jubliee way project.
I took my 10 and 12 year old nephews there and they had an amazing time…

There used to be a track at Joyce green, near Dartford, I found this on google .Hope it helps.
I remeber Dave Taylors Trail Park, thats where I learned to ride a bike. A Yamaha TY50 !! wish I had one now, probably worth something(if only for the fuel economy!)
i used to ride off-road when i was 14-16 with a biek youth project, we went t joyce green, they have a junior? smaller track pefect for what you want i think.
the big jumps on the main track scared crap outta me…for a lap…after that they were fun!

Im not sure about Canada Heights as thats a Grand Prix track, they might chase you anyway with a big 4x4 if you turn up… like they did me when I took my mini bike there to do hill climbs :hehe:
The best place id say is under neath the Crossways Bridge on the Kent side (Joycee Green MX track is 5 mins from it too). You have the run of the whole river bank… its popular with other dirt bikes but doesnt get over run with them.
