I was just out for a ride on the bike, wasn’t doing anything stupid just went for a normal ride around the local town centre…
I’ll try and set the scene… In ireland you can drive on a pro licence by yourself if you have L plates on the car…(you can drive yourself to the test centre… fail… then drive yourself home) anyway… a woman in a Rav 4 (L plates showing) was in front of me on a dual on a carridgeway but in the slow lane… i saw her indercate but wasnt expecting her to move as fast as she did into the fast lane… no reason too, nothing to overtake it was a clear road… i could see in her mirror she didnt look (even had my lights on) i beeped the horn and she gave me the finger, i went on the inside and she moved towards me as if she was gonna hit me… so i took her mirror off then went for it !! i really lost it… lucky she was a woman.

So if theres nothing to overtake why pull out…
2: I beep the horn to warn her i was there… that is the reason they put them on the bikes in the first place… for her to just give me the finger wasn’t the right thing to do… i think you’ll agree with me on that one…
3: i went up the inside and looked at her… she moved her car as if to knock me off the bike… can u say you would be ok with that… honestly…
she’s a lone bird, you are a big scay biker (in her eyes) and you are being agressive, thats just how birds are … she gave you ample warning and you lost it mate … if she indicated then you should have slowed, she’d shown her intention …
Either way finger or no finger. Taking someones mirror off, not sure if you just hit it or actually took it off, is not going to make car drivers like bikers anymore. Rather than stepping back and letting her go about her business even after giving you the finger you actually made the situation worse.
You stated you live or ride in Ireland. Try taking someones mirror off in London, you better pray they are in traffic because they will run you off the road.
People seem to get in my way everywhere I go and they need telling they are in the wrong. Hopefully they won’t do it again then and learn from their mistakes
I’ve calmed down alot tho over the years, I flick the finger with a smile on my face rather than full of anger
There are two types of drivers out there, the ones that look, but still pull out and the ones who don’t. I drive as does Jo, In my view there is NO excuse for not looking.
Taking wing mirrors off is not something we should be doing. I may have done it in the past, but you will end up with the law or worse visiting ya.
Road Rage … a right tasty subject but, those that lose their rags just never know who they’re losing their rags with.
I’ve been guilty of it (just words exchanged!!) and no doubt will do again but if you go further than the odd profanity or gesture you could land yourself in a world of poo … not worth it if you ask me … no matter how much the person deserves it !!
I used to get well worked up by bad drivers, especially when I was doing some courier work on a monkey bike in London (most dangerous job I’ve ever had). I only ever dented someones door once though - and at the time thought they deserved it.
Here is another solution though: follow them home and come back later

Used to be that you could drive around solo on a provisional licence for ever, bit like having L plates on a bike over here.
I believe the law changed a few years back, which means you have to be accompanied in the car by a qualified driver for the period of the 1st provisional licence - 2 years, but if you don’t pass your test & renew your licence for another 2 years, then you can then drive unaccompanied.
On the way to work today had a twelve year old on a BMX play chicken with me in busy traffic, thought it would be fun to ride across the road into my lane and play chicken!! WTF are people thinking? I am 100+Kg, bike is c150Kg so quarter of a ton hiting his gangsta wannabe arse at 20mph, I know who would have come off beter in the short run.
Other day i was in car, in a dual lane that merges into a single one.
I was already the car ahead, and followed the road through, but the car behind got pi$$ed off cause he couldnt go fast enough up inside to get past me.
He went within about a foot of hitting me and sat that close for bout half a mile down the road.
He overtakes me with cars coming other way
Road then widens to two lanes, and he races down outside lane, only to get stuck behind cars turning right.
He sees me coming up inside (bearing in mind i havent actually lost my cool and im just going about my own business) so he deliberately pulls out in front of me, cause me to hit brakes hard, come within a bout an inch of hitting him, blasting horn and flashing lights, but he dont care, cause he got in front of me again
Its people like this that are making me seriously reconsider living in London, and has literally petrified my gal from going out to ride her one week old 125 cause shes terrified she’ll end up dead!!!
in car again, in a 30 mph zone, about to pull out, with a blind bend to my right
start pulling out, and a car races round the bend going allot faster than 30. (if he was doing the limit, i would have had ample time to get out onto road)
I beep horn, he races past and i pull out.
at end of road, i look behind and see a car that seems to be overtaking everyone on other side of road (i thought it was police at first)
so lights change, i move out into junction, stop at lights, and a car skids up next to me, on wrong side of road- its the same bloke!!
hes basically thought “How dare someone beep at me for almost killing them cause i was going too fast, lets divert from my journey, turn round, and go back after him just to shout some profanities”
So i look round and shake my head in disbelief that someone would actually stoop soo low, then he has to awkwardly try and reverse all the way back, to continue on his journey!!!
