what to get?

ok, Still looking for a bike after passing my test, now was thinking SV650 but well cannot really do anything with it like track days etc etc (well I would not want to anyway).

I have always like the look of green laning, and I used to own a traily and loved it without condition so am thinking maybe something similar so any ideas what I shouhld be looking for baring in mind I would like to do some green laning on it.

cheers guys

You could do a lot worse than the SV650, bloody good all rounder, not exactly slow either. Well worth thinking about don’t right it off.

Who told you that you can’t trackday an SV650?

They make a handy track tool for a novice.

My Triumph Daytona 600 will be for sale in a while, have collected a number of parts to repair it and it’ll be cheap to a LB’er, '05 bike in red 5000 miles, perfect condition other than my off which was cosmetic only.

as said b4 sv650s is 1 or the best first bikes you can buy. on the first trackday i did there was this fella on a sv650 oblitorating the rest of the group. he was in the fast group by the way

there quite cheep aswell which is a bonus

they race them aswell its called minitwins i think

SV650 ARE WICKED BIKES

IT WILL BE A GOOD CHOICE MATE

hornet would be better. Its a 4 not a twin which is better by me…less engine braking. Also more power and faster and handles better as standard as has 180 rear not 160. Try both i’d say

Yep, and they race bored out ones in Sound of Thunder and Thunderbikes too

I brought my SV650s before passing my test and I love it to bits. Its a great learner bike. Ive not had it on a track yet but real eager to get on one, hopefully sometime through the summer

dont get me wrong I love the SV but I could not afford to throw something like that down a track hence my opinion is not to race that, but I cold do a bit of green laning and is generally cheaper than track days.

So without going off the subject any suggestions on bikes I could go green laning on.

SV650… just as good in the lanes as on a track.

An XT or DRZ would give you a good compromise… get another set or rims with some sticky tyres and do trackdays too

like your thinking chunky
