Group hug everybody! ;)
aaaahh feel the love:D:D:D:D
judging by the pic Ema, they really wanted your bike, possibly even scouted it before hand>?
what area was it taken from?
sometimes i think undeground car parks can be worse for security, its encolsed isnt it, so if someone does get in, they have cover and time to play with, while attempting teh theft.
whay i mean is if my alarm goes off outside my house, theres a dam good chance i will hear it and be up in a less than a minute, its happneded a few times, its gone off at silly AM, up liek a rocket straight downstairs, cant see anything out the window so i open teh dorr and check teh road.
paranoid?..nah carefull.
still theres only so much you can do mate, you did that, and they still got itâŚ**** innit.
just thank god you have insurance mate.
chin up fella, i know how having bikes taken feels.
Oh come onâŚitâs just a machine and easy to replace. I know itâs not a good experience to lose it but lets try to keep perspective hereâŚI, for one, donât have a ârelationshipâ with my bikeâŚitâs just something I like to ride;). Had lots of bikes over the last 30+ years and I regret selling some of them but thatâs it.![]()
I hope you get it back soon and the scroats get a âreasonablyâ harsh punishment:)
Sorry to hear this mate I know how you feel as it happened to me!!
when mine was stolen I was wishing a slow painful death on them
(there was a little touchyness going round must be the weather get over it)
Like I said we had one nicked too so know how it feels, not touchy though just human & its feck all to do with the weather
Just wondering, was the bike locked to any secured objects using a decent chain? What people fail to remember is that sometimes a thief can spot you riding the bike at which point they will simply follow you and see exactly where you live and what security you have on it. So it is good to check behind you or change your route if you see anyone following.
These days I think the only way to be sure your bike is safe is to live outside London in a secluded little town that has no teenagers or yobs in general, make sure that no one follows you have a garage and some ground anchros.
Obviously try and make it harder for them, because they might just think itâs too much work and go for the next one up the road, then again⌠can you be sure? If they target you and they come for your bike I assume they already know what security you haveâŚ
Really sorry to hear this. But it seems like they are becoming really professional at this. If they want your bike they take. they must have been watching you or something or else how would they know that those bikes are park out there at the same time every night. Just got to watch your back now a days.
The management company got the CCTV, they were recording 24/7 all the cameras inside and outside the garage. But for data-protection they refuse to give me a copy; pretty sure the police will get it

Thatâs bullsh!t mate.
You have the right to access CCTV images under the Freedom of information act 2000, section 50. ![]()
The Freedom of Information Act only covers public authorities, as far as I am aware. So unless the management company is actually the local authority then it doesnât apply here - unless of course the FoI request is made to the police when the footage falls into their possession, but even then they wonât be obliged to release it if the management company objects.I may be wrong, but thatâs my understanding. Definitely worth a try though, if only so you can see for yourself the scumbags that lifted your bike.
There do seem to be a lot of LB-ersâ bikes getting stolen lately. Maybe we should unite with our insurers to start negotiations for a group discount from Almax?
Dude, sorry to hear this, there seems to be a lot of this going on!! everyone has to be extra careful nowâŚ
It is a terrible loss for someone to loose their bike (s), angry comments will be madeâŚ
As stated, the garage has CCTV both inside and out. If the outside camera covers areas where the public are free to come and go unrestricted then this I believe would be covered under FOIA.LB does already get a nice discount on Almax IIRC:cool:
Eman
You may have done this already but make sure to ask the management company keep that tape.
It may take the police weeks to request it by which time it could have been erased/copied over. Some places only keep them for a week.
It seems obvious especially when you have called them already but there are a lot of stupid/thoughtless people out there and some of them have jobs :w00t:
This is ******* stupid, the chance is if you would see the camera and post on the forum a description of the assholes and van number plate etc etc⌠those bastards would have a chance to be seen and get cought. Who knows someone might recognise them.
If it takes 1 month for you to get your hands on that tape this is bullshit. Since you were the victim and they have the footage they should give you just that extract, I doubt youâd care what happened 3 days ago. They can watch it and at least print out some images. If I lived in a building paid rent and they told me this I would move out straight away⌠if I owned a flat in that building I would be seriously pissed and I wouldnât pay any upkeep fees or whatever they call them for building maintenance and security, since obviously you ainât getting any.
This is bullshit⌠how the hell can people get away with this and others defending them??? Data Protection my ass!!! Who are they protecting??? The damn thiefs of course⌠more rights than the damn victim⌠DISGUSTINGâŚ!!!
When this woman crashed into my car at the hospital the CCTV people said no problem, we will vouch for you as it was clearly not your fault and if requested send it to the insurance. No police was involved whatsoever.
Bliddy hell EmâŚsorry to hear this hinny. Lets hope the thieving scum get what they deserve and someone steals all of their valuables one day.
This was a professional job and the bike was stolen to order. Hate to be the bearer of bad news hinny, but theyâd cased the place a few times and probably observed your routine and security. Once they had the bike they would have stripped it down and shipped the parts out within hours.
90% of bikes stolen are never recovered, and the majority of those 10% come into the Pound with bits missing.
I just hope your insurance company sort you out quickly. Just so unfair to think youâll be paying a higher premium cos of some thieving ba**ard!!
As for the CCTV, as mentioned before, make sure they keep the tape and donât destroy it. Get the Police to get it asap or get a legal rep to apply for it.
Bloody Hell this is taking the pi$$ the amount of bikes that have been reported stolen on here recently! Really hope you get your bike back mate but if it is an organised gang then I#m sure you know the chances are slim.
Just hope someone does get some thing from the CCTV and they catch the little $hits
Since this post died and is sinking I assume you have no good news or havenât seen.
Apology, I was to harsh and I had to think before write the above post, sorry if I hurt someone feeling!!
