What goes into an 'engine noise power filter'

Hi all,

I’m trying to reduce the rats nest of cables and junk under my seat that I use for powering my accessories. I’ve got all of the parts to build a PCB with the exception of 1 component - a power filter.

The bit that I currently have in my rats nest is one of these - http://www.autocom.co.uk/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=55

Does anyone know what goes into one of these, and how I’d include the filter on my PCB (after the relay probably).

Thanks,

Would it just be a cap to block out dc noise? could be totally wrong here…

Not a clue :frowning: It could well be - how would that work ? You’d have a cap at some point in your circuit, and then ?

Not sure about how they’d be used on a bike but I know they’re used in amplification to balance current, block ground noise etc…

Interesting one, that… :Whistling:
