What does it take...

Is it not compulsory to use dimmed lights when it’s foggy like Today?

No, in SE London you have to use your fog lights during the day in the middle of summer because it’s well cool.:doze:

yes and ur main beams to blind ppl:hehe: some off them lights are ott dazzle me to much!

Coming back from London last night there was a twonk in a 4X4 with no lights on at all.

Grrrrrrrr!!!

GF rang me this morning that every fourth car had no lights on in the fog…madness.

yer they do that a lot round my way (southeast) mainly scooter riders nearly hit 1 b4 on the dark part off the a20!!! did my ******* nut!!

what does it take…

a broken mirror :w00t: well you couldn’t see him right?

I thought it was the law to have one headlamp pointing straight ahead and the other angled directly into the eyes of oncoming drivers…?

After today we can fully expect to see people forgetting they used their fog-lamps, then leaving them switched on for the next two weeks.

I am amazed at the number of drivers around me that only have one side light working. Seems they are quite happy to drive around like that, problem is with no traffic cops around they get away with it.

It’s really embarrassing as I sometimes nod them thinking it’s a fellow biker

yer still one is better than non but its not rocket science to change a bulb is it lol:w00t:

I saw a bloke in a 4x4 with no lights at 6Pm when it was dark outside, looked at him and gave him the sign for lights on mate, and pointed at his lights, he just looked at me shrugged and carried on without lights… dipshit. I wonder if he is involved in an accident and the other guy points out he had no lights who’s fault would it be??? Specially with witnesses and maybe photo evidence…

as long as you’re aware of the fact that it’s blown :ermm:

You can see when you stop behind another car, though.

Or so you would think. Most people just don’t seem to be aware - either that or they don’t give a squit.

yep true and can tell other ways 2 lol

Too many stupid people clogging up too few roads unfortunately. The car licence test needs to be tightened (as the bike one has just been, oh no its hasnt…YET)

It’s very easy (unless you have a Renault Megan) but let’s face it most of these people just dont give a sh*t.

The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989

Requirements about the use of headlamps and front fog lamps

25.—(1) Save as provided in paragraph (2), no person shall use, or cause or permit to be used, on a road a vehicle which is fitted with obligatory dipped-beam headlamps unless every such lamp is kept lit-

(a) during the hours of darkness, except on a road which is a restricted road for the purposes of section 81 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 by virtue of a system of street lighting when it is lit; and

(b) in seriously reduced visibility.

Or to answer your question, Yes providing that visibility is seriously reduced.

Thanks, clear enough for me

Hang on- what about paragraph 2…

2.a) For the purposes of clause 25 the term ‘person’ shall be deemed to exclude the following:

i) Anyone abiding in South London

ii) Anyone else.

b) etc.

But at least counting silly/lazy/buggers gives you something to do on a commute. And it makes overtaking so much more exciting not knowing if there is an unlit car going to appear out of the mist.
