Im just curious to know who uses what and why?
Has anyone actually ‘tested’ them?

Trekkie fan per chance?
Over the years I’ve gone head to head with a bus at silly mph, totally my fault for speeding never mind the bus jumped a red light, to a really slow motion high side on service road gravel. In between I’ve had more than my fair share of spills and thrills.
So … What are you talking about? The tarmac, street furniture, cars, vans and buses I’ve come across are not getting any softer.
I prefer to keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up. Failing that plan ‘B’ would be for a rapid response by a pair of caring sharing female Paramedics with sufficient drugs and gas to keep me happy while they made it all better
Why … so I can give it another shot tomorrow :Whistling:
lol.
I’ve always used Knox in the Past, but at the moment i’m happy with the protection my RST gear has in as standard, the Back protector in my Leathers isn’t hard plastic but it seems to be pretty sturdy and the one in my Textiles is sufficiant enough too. If i were to go down hard enough for that not to protect me properly then i doubt a plastic spine will do any better.
Like Art i’ve had some big Offs over the years and i’ve been lucky enough to have the correct gear on and been relitively OK, a Seperate Back Protector wouldn’t have kept me any safer i doubt
I’ve got Halvarssons leathers for cutting about and BKS for track, so I’m not sure about what armour is in either, but what I do know is the stuff (and the leathers) in the Halvarssons are top notch. They also have rebranded Forcefield for their back protectors (of which I have), and on the strength of that I bought their premier back protector and chest protector, but I’ve not crashed in either… I do use Knox gloves as well, though
Man, thats even baffled me!
I think Forcefield are good, and the Knox I use are good… I dont think you can go wrong with either
Dainese.
I’ve got a Forcefield back protector in one jacket, a D30 in another and I’ve got a Leatt adventure body protector as well for off-roading.
I had dainese textiles and leathers… and would swap the back protector from one jacket to the other…
Before that I had the HG Tricky III jacket with the backprotector it came with which was 5 layers of soft stuff… not sure how that stacks up to the DAinese protectors but I never had to rely on it.
I find wearing separate back protectors a bit of the pain in the arse and they make me sweat extremely…
Ask Blade he seemed to enjoy this “a lot” when I saw it happen!!!
Knox for me worked both times I’ve had to test them - jumping in the country over ditches and star jumping into a van at 30ish mph
Forcefield L2K pro back protector. Pretty comfy to wear.
I tried out a forcefield back protector earlier this week and it was soo comfy in my leathers i forgot i was wearing it.
Knox stuff is nice but the harder armour is hassle to put on with leathers.
I have crashed with a knox insert in my jacket and it worked well.
I prefer blonds, they are more fun.
Another thing to consider is the materials that they are made out off.
Anything with hard plastic is likely to break and or shatter on impact.
Soft materials like the Forcefield are going to be most likely reusable after a spill.
I have a Forcefield. It’s so comfortable you don’t notice it after a few minutes. It also moulds to the shape of your spine so when you hold it up after wearing it you can see the curve of your back which is cool. I would really recommend it.
Knox
its what had had for ages & to lazy to replace it
I used to wear knox back and chest protector, but was never very comfortable in then. Now I have a Dainese and its really comfortable, and the kidney belt is a good idea.
