So I just watched a video on youtube of a chap who did a decent puncture repair with a kit he had stashed under his bike seat after he found a piece of copper lodged in the tyre, which virtually flattened after he removed it.
To be honest, I don’t keep anything under mine apart from a few slowly rusting tools from the original kit (which I doubt i’ll ever use), but now im considering one of these portable kits (it even had an air cannister to re-inflate the tyre).
Thought i’d ask what ‘essentials’ you keep under your seat before every ride (aside from your packed lunch obviously )
Mine has a few unused tools, a pair of cheapy hi-viz waterproof trousers that I always forget about when it rains and a cargo net that I always seem to take out the day before I need it (including one occasion when I had to ride back from saisbury with a bag full of shopping stuffed down my jacket)
I used to keep a puncture repair kit in there but they kept perishing and when I finally did get a puncture I ignored it and went to the pub to wait for the RAC anwyay.
Now I keep a jacket in there, normally with some emergency fuel cash in the pocket, and sometimes an assortment of tools.
