So I had the idea of getting myself a track bike, nothin too serious (400cc+/-)
What so I need for track-days I know about the leathers regulations and noise stuff but the biggest question is are there any trackdays that don’t require you to have a full license?
I mean there must be a way to do it without a full license??!
Anyone know anything about kawasaki zxr 400? Are they good or bad? What do you think would be a decent first track bike? I was thinking of 400-500cc or is that over the top and I should get like a 250?
Yeah might aswell as that will give me more time to save up for a better bike, leathers and a helmet!
Leathers! I know you have to have either a one piece or the ones that zip up, I have the ones that zip up at the moment but they’re too small now so I’m thinking that I will buy a one piece suit! Can you get decent one for £400?
How many trackdays does a set of tyres last approximately?
You can get a really decent set of RST 1 Piece leathers for £400.
A 400 would be a great track bike, either a ZXR400, CBR400 or a VFR400 would be ideal. don’t go for a GSXR400 as they are quite rare now and probably hard to source parts should you have a spill.
With things like helmets, leathers, boots and gloves I prefer to buy new. You never know the history of them and you could find out that they are fake but you’ll find out too late!!
or you could go to Essex Bikers Centre, they sell top of the range 2nd hand leathers and new leathers at really good prices. you could get a really good set of 2nd hand Dainese Race leathers for the price of a new set of RST ones. Also they sell ex race leathers from actual racers so you get top quality leathers that are hardly warn
