What a start to the New Year!

On a certain Sunday Morning Rideout there’s a saying about when someone has binned it " that any crash you walk away from will do for me ".

It seems that this New Year has gotten off to a shaky start in some households. I got a pm from an LB’er that a family member had been involved in a horse riding accident.

And today. Guess how our cycling in the park ended? - see my five year old son (in the middle) and the semi frozen lake!

I do wish the horse rider a similar outcome to ours!

will take a guess that ensuing moments contained that heart stopping moment where you just freeze briefly before your brain kicks your body into action …

Hope the ending is of a good nature even if one that you will never want to repeat ever again

I just found myself doing a Linford Christie (albeit without the Lunch Box). The tall lad in the background grabbed my sons foot which stopped him floating away from the side, or I’d have to throw that lil’sweet girl in to go get my boy. That water looked fuggin cold!

I think that would have been justified George, just using whatever came too hand and you’d have been far too heavy for that thin ice:D

Come off it. I’m always on thin ice !

That lad trying to pull my boy out by his foot did keep dunking my sons head under water tho!

Thats very true George,or is it living on the edge!!!:w00t:

Ruddy nora Sneaky! You are teaching him a bit early this “you gotta be in it to bin it” theorum?! Or is it the fishing?!

Either way - glad he’s okay - poor mite :pinch:

There’s no tutor like experience.

I got to thinking, when my kids were very young, that may be I should push them into the stinging nettles/brambles, chuck them into the frozen pond, kick them off their bikes. The theory was sound. “They won’t do that again if they have a choice.”

As things turned out, they managed to do all of that and more without me.

Never mind as a parent i did all that to my sister:Whistling: i got a right b*llocking when i shoved her into the frozen pond though…she nearly died of pneumonia:w00t:

I fell in one of those once near my school.
It was an all boys school though, so the mentality wasn’t to help me out, but rather to **** yourself laughing

He he, you’re all heart!

Glad hes ok!

Never forget the time i fell in a lake while fly fishing… Managed to get hypothermia and an awful cold that lasted about 3 weeks after… Cousen who was fishing with me just sat laughing his head off!!

… Wish he’d filmed it for You’ve been framed…
