Not surprised the car didn’t see him he kinda deserved that why wud u ride someone’s arse for so long and so close if some dick hit my car like that i’d twat em.
What a pair of c&cks.
Both to be blamed for that.
Car driver should have been aware there was a bike behind him (since he must have been able to see it in his rearview mirror for quite a while before they came out on to the straight) and when he pulled out if he checked his mirrors and didn’t see the bike he should have guessed it was in his blind spot.
Or he didn’t even check his mirrors and was so busy looking forwards that he just pulled out (i’ve had it happen to me before - they start to pull out, see you next to them and panic and pull back in).
I’d say the car driver was more to blame than the biker… but that’s just my opinion.
think we seen this about 10 times already as reposts:))
sorry to spoil the fun
Not a problem, for me it was the 1st time
I’ve not seen this before…but I can’t believe the car driver does that…there is no left hand turn, nothing on the right hand side of the road to require the car driver to move out, so it really does seem he did it deliberately! However, the biker was overtaking on double solid white lines and that’s considered dangerous driving in any capacity…tricky.
No…he just didn’t see him and was about to overtake the car in front.
There’s a car in front of the red car. You can see it at 9 secs into the clip. The red car was just trying to overtake in my opinion, not deliberately take the bike out. He should have observed the impatient bike behind him and the bike should have let him overtake first. Both to blame if you ask me.
IMHO these two are among the very good points raised. In the main I dont agree with either of the above, but they serve highlight the need to make extra margin for others people actions (both rider and driver will have believed they were in the right at first). If the rider had planned better, amongst the tools at his disposal were his horn, his lights and his road positioning. When he went for the overtake he had 2-3ft between himself and the car and 6ft safety margin on his left…that would be in case the grass verge swerved out and hit him? We’ve all made the same error at times, I have.
Ultimately it doesn’t matter who was in the right or wrong if your dead/injured. I would side with those that say the fault is with both parties. Neither took in or gave out proper information. They both knew what they wanted to do and that was not what they planned, it was what they intended. What I will always say is that right or wrong, we should only rely on one person for our own safety:)
That is shocking!.. glad the biker had a camera though, number plate of the car that caused it… check!
I’va had that quite a bit myself lately… coming up behind a car, positioning to overtake and then they move onto the centre line trying to block!
If you pause it at 11 seconds, I think there’s quite afew more cars in front of the red car… plus look at the gap between the red car and the one infront of it, it’s too much of a gap for the red car to be overtaking the car infront of it… I think the driver of the red car has just hit a boiling point and done something stupid… for all we know they may have been racing eachother before hand.

You may be 100% correct. But the point is the biker had a big hand in what happened by not making the most of what he had. It dont matter whether the rider should have to or not needed to make allowences for other road users. Let me put it to the doubters another way. In hindsight if you could offer the rider the opportunity to rewind time and do it differently what to think (read know ) they would choose. Busted bike and A&E or do something that could save themselves a whole heap of hurt? Thats why in the end, being in the right or wrong dont mean diddly.
car driver was pissed off at the biker for what ever the biker was doing b4 this part and just ran him off the road…simples.

May be, but it still dont change owt. Swapping the gap to the car for the gap to the grass verge would have bought him some time. If you’re correct, then the outcome may still be A&E! Call me yella, but I’d take “some chance” over “no chance” anytime. AG put it another way:

The biker overtake wasnt textbook (IAM , Roadcraft). But it looked legal (no solid white line his side, no junction visible). Therefore overtake for the bike looks 100% OK from the video. The c0ck is the car driver. He pulled out with out looking. Period. Common accident - hitting the car you’re overtaking. The comments from thacadman on Youtube are pretty stupid.

So, God forbid it never happens, but if you or your loved ones got hurt in this scenario and then could turn back time and go back to the incident again you’d change nothing?:Whistling:
As I said, for me, the its not at the end of the day about being right or wrong. Its about not being a casualty. I’d happily take being 100% in the wrong and being save than being 100% in the right and getting hurt! If I understand you correctly you’d happily take the A&E route?
