What 125cc bike?

I want to get an affordable 125cc bike that I can use to practice on till my test, probably for a month and a half. Any suggestions on

what bike?

new or used?

pick up 10 years old yamaha sr125, bullet proof and very good learner bikes. Keep it a month or so and you will get your money back when you sell it. Very cheap to insure as well.

Also 'coz you’re selling one

Go for an RS, there good to ride, the fastest 125 and they sell like hotcakes on biketrader! and for a month or two you probably wont loose any money on it!

Hey Choccy,

Chiswick Honda have quite a few used bikes on their books. Might be worth going down to have a look.

The Aprilias are pretty pricey for a first bike I reckon Sean

Thanx Mini Mo

yeah i brought mine brand new for 3200, and sold it for 3000 a year later (but no damage), my mate brought a Hyosung Comet for 800 just over a year old, that was a v.nice bike to ride, 4stroke you wouldn’t think it was a 125, and the frame is big enough to put in the 250engine aswell!! thats a good first bike aswell!

Sean so that means you only lost £200. How did you sell it??

I have looked at it and it looks pretty good actually. What I am actually thinking now is might buy it and keep it and then get a bigger one couple months after.

my gal is in same position, she wants to get a 125 for few mths to give her practice for her das, shes been looking at chinese bikes, you can get brand new for only about 600-900pounds, anyone heard of these?
