My SV400 speedo cable is toast, the inner has snapped.
Any ideas where I can get a replacement?
Gone are the days when you could get a cable made up.
I’ve tried Southern Cross and they couldn’t help, they couldn’t
find a SV400 part and wouldn’t suggest an alternative bike cable
or a source for SV400 parts.
It’s a 1998 SV400.
Thanks
Mike
bat motorcyles? are they even still trading!?
failign that try using a 650 one, curvy SV’s had analouge clocks up to 2003, then the pointys came out with digi clocks.
i use quite a few bits and bobs from the 650 for my 1000.
HTH:)
Good idea but unfortunately all SV650s, even ones with analogue clocks,
use a sensor and an electric speedo.
However I have found a couple of places that will still make up cables

But have decided to let Southern Cross Motorcycles fix it, I’ve booked it
in for a service there, with the caveat that they fix the speedo before
doing the service.
Well the guys at Southern Cross have done it.
They found a Honda speedo cable that fits.
And with new tyres, brakes and a smooth running engine…
It’s almost like a new bike
