West End Show Tickets

I’ve promised my mum we would take her to a West End Show sometime in the near future.

Apart from the obvious Ticketmaster / Lastminute.com etc is there any better way of getting hold of tickets?

Cheers

Not sure, but I hear the Lion King is good

I remembered that just after posting this…hahaha:D

Mum wants to see Sound of Music… so I will take me bike round on sunday morning:D:D:D

I think the best place to get them is at the bottom of Leicester Square. Usually have deals going on, but it depends on when you are going.

Try this link mate, explains all!

Hope it helps,

Cheers RR:)I know the tkts place you mean but i think thats “on the day” stuff isn’t it?I really need to book and plan this in advance as my mum isn’t so mobile:)

Chunks my daughter is one for Theatre, she goes at least once a week and you’ve already mentioned the most popular sites she uses.

The idea is to keep looking as they have special deals every so often… suss out what you want to see and where it’s on at, work out the best seating for you and mum, then keep your eye on the prices.

We often get tickets for a tenner when the previous day they’ve been on at £60, you’ve just got to do a bit of surfin for them.

Cheers Ang;)

I just wondered if there wre any inside lines;)

Lastminute.com it is then:cool:

“The hills are alive…”:hehe:

The long game is to register with all the theatres. Someone at my work does this. They then send you emails touting upcoming shows, and very often you can get big discounts for the first few weeks (sometimes when the show may not have officially opened). Usually something like “best seats in the house for £20”.

Drawbacks are:

  • the offers are often promoting things that are MONTHS away. (We took advantage of an offer for cheap tickets for Sound of Music, but we had to commit to going about 6 months before the show opened).

  • the show might not have fully bedded in. It may take a few weeks before everyone’s at their best

Advantages are:

  • (like with S of M) you get best seats for something that’s sold out as soon as it goes on offer to the rest of the world. We could have sold our S of M tickets for £££s

RESULT!!!

Managed to get SofM tickets at knock down price for next monday evening.:w00t:
