Well, I won't be going to the track-day then...

This happened to me on the way in to work this morning, already got a quote on repair, looking at £2500 for a bike with a book value of £2700. Just spent £1200 on a full akrapovic system and service as well…

Bah, it’s all just too depressing.

Many thanks to the rider (Ian Archer if anyone knows him) for stopping, also the driver who was following him, the little old lady who watched the whole thing - and thank god the driver actually had insurance! Oh, and thanks to SOS for getting it home.

you okay then…let me have the bike if its written off…

Ouch - hope you are ok & everything works out for you :frowning:

Oh no not another one, bike looks very sad… hope you’re ok?

fuzz and furkin mate, apart from your pride are you ok?

Jeez

Looks like you had a wallop there mate:angry:

Are you OK yourself?

2T… You must know how the fella feels, show a bit of compassion will ya?

If it gets written off, I’m taking the pipes, pazzos, seat cover and the little ben clock off it  after that I’m not sure… once you’ve yanked the clocks back out of the way the steering is fine, would probably make a very cheap streetfighter conversion I suppose. Kawasaki plastics are mighty expensive.

I’ll let you know what they say on the insurance side - I don’t have room for a project…

Me? I’m fine, I think I must be blessed… starting to get a stiff neck though :frowning:

tough luck fulla, looks bad. Wheel were slipping all the way to work and on the way home in the jam jar. leaving the bike tucked up with all that cr@p on the roads.

Sounds good man, glad to hear your okay…I want the engine forks and frame…maybe the wheels if its go…likely it will be sold.

Run that past me again?:P:w00t::smiley:

ouch!

hope your all right fella, that looks like a BIG wallop!

blimey!! poor bike, its so sad when that happens!, Glad you are ok though…

Me too :w00t:

yeah, I use the jam jar to commute and the bike on the weekend unlike some others that just pretend to ride

Four crashes in as many days, its fairly obvious its not a good time to be out on two wheels.

Can’t believe you as well today! Sorry mate, hope everything sorts itself out for you.

What a month! It’s definitely the roads, zeph11 was in the car today doing the same corner I did, obviously, but about an hour before me, and he said even in the car his wheels were all over the place.

Sorry to hear about your accident, bloody rough out there isnt it, i came home sure i must have front flat. checked it when i got home only to find it spot on pressure. Just goes to show the conditions weather and road are bloody awful

Be careful everyone x

Just wanted to say thanks to all for the kind words, it’s a miserable day when your pride and joy ends up in a mess - so much appreciated…

I’ll second the comments about the slippery roads, I don’t know what it’s been over the last few weeks, but the roads I travel on have been greasy even when dry - so yeah, take care out there.

Amen…take it easy out there peeps;)Judging by the pictures it don’t look too bad, you could have yourself a nice trackday bike there;)How did it happen anyway?

Ooo, hadn’t considered a track day bike - ditches the need for clocks and lights anyway  Dunno, where I live has restricted parking, vehicles need MOTs and to be road legal - so I’d need somewhere to garage it…

I was trucking happily down the A205, came round a dustbin wagon, spotted the car at the junction up ahead, plenty of time, he pulled out - plenty of space, no oncoming traffic - he looked back up the road, spotted me and stopped dead in the middle of my lane! You could see his hand wriggling the gear stick trying to decide which way to go ruining my chances of making a dive left or right. Realised it was all a bit late as I’m skidding towards him, so I helped the back end out in an effort to save the forks - job done I suppose.

I’ve seen pedestrians freeze in front of traffic before, but I didn’t think it happened with cars - there was absolutely no reason for his hesitation. So not really a smidsy, more of a smidsybtip.
