Fork the service, he doesn’t really need it, let’s not do it and say we did?
“fork the service Im tyred and exhausted and I need a brake !”
Sorry couldn’t resist
I live in the area too there aren’t to many bike shops around anymore
this where a real mechanic comes and calls us all ignoramuses for not knowing that forks are serviced in x,y,z ways and that woozy’s forks had in fact become spoons…
So whatever came of this little problem then Woozy?
need an expert eye again on the bike
niggles-
unsure if reserve is working yet
main beam light on dash still not working
front brake feels like it moves/jumps occasionally (this may be the pads wearing in?)
still a metallic rattle from the back of the bike somewhere
Take it back to the garage then and ask them why they didn’t: 1. check your reserve and 2. Fix the metallic rattle from the rear.
Then ask them…
- Why the front caliper pistons needed changing, what was wrong with the old ones, were the old seals weaping?
- Why the front forks needed a service, did you have a popped seal? Did they chance the oil and fit new seals? Did they have to replace the bushings inside the forks?
- Why they charged you to replace the main beam dash noddy light as it still doesn’t work
Then report back to this thread let us know how you got on… Good luck!
will do
thanks
ok i asked about work carried out. i got some facts wrong (as usual)
Ok the forks werent worked on. just checked. all ok
The brake pistons werent replaced, just cleaned and seals replaced
they said they will recheck the noise. I noticed it was in all the gears below 4th last night when accellerating.
they did check the reserve fuel but forgot to mention, the tap has gone they said, thats £65 for a new one.
more money which i dont have, new tyres are my priority next on the bike
The tap may just need a strip down, clean and lube…
