Good luck buddy - stick with it - you can do it!
I went from 24 stone, and am now weighing in at 16 1/2 stone - 8 1/2 stone in 2 years. I wanna drop to 16, and then bulk up.
If I can do it - anyone can!

Rioting Rob (09/02/2010)
Woke up this morning and while getting dressed looked at myself in the mirror:w00t: and thought oh dear.
Since joining Lb I seem to have been given a new lease of life so have decided to get fit for summer.
Now because I’m so out of shape and generally unfit a weight loss program will have to start immediately.
So I weighed myself this morning and I’m bang on 14 stone,:w00t: so deciding a weight loss of 2lbs per week would be a sensible amount per week to lose.
Cardio work with a target of 13st will be my first goal followed by cardio/resistance training until reaching 12st and then full on weight training to shape up.
I’ve decided to post on here to give my lazy fat arse an incentive to get up and get fit and will post on this thread my weight loss every Sunday morning/afternoon.
I’m asking for all your support and suggestions as I’ve never had to watch what goes in my mouth before now. And by that I mean what I eat for all you pervs out there.
So let the games begin and wish me well.
you and me both i came in at 14 st now 1310 still more to go run every night after work just half an hour on treadmill never been like this eat what i wont not anymore
middle age spread lol:D good luck
I think that on top of all the excellent advise on here, you should try to fit a bit of swimming into your week as well. Even if its only a couple of times a week.
The main trick is just to keep moving around the pool, using whatever method you want, for about an hour. I find it helps massively when I need to shift few pounds…
Good luck with it mate!
slimming world and exercise you are more than welcome to borrow my books i lost 2 stone and have kept most of it of.
Good luck Rob, the exercise is essential to keep toned when you are on a long term weight loss programme. Keep posting as your buddies will try and help you keep motivated.
Happy to help, with training and/or diet.

My advise is…eat less and move more
Yea, eat less and get some excercise yer fat bastar%, when you`ve lost a stone or two try to remember how it felt to have sex.
Once you remember do it as often as yer stocky frame will permit!
:D:P:D:P:D:P:D:P:D:P:D:P:D:P:D:P:D:P:D:P:D:P:w00t::P;):):hehe:
:w00t:
Sorry Rob, got a little involved there.
Mrs Jetstream says she loves a good handfull whatever that means.
I’m another thats done it… went from over 19 1/2 stone (my digital scales didnt go more than that
) down to 14s 2lb (now up to around 15, i was a bit skinny at 6’4’’!)
My best bit of advice would be to keep a food diary and work out what you are consuming - you would be surprised how many calories are in some things and how little in others.
Good luck
Good luck m8. It ain’t easy and I’m one of these people that gets bored quick. Thankfully my job keeps me active!
I would recommend a trainer…if you’ve had to pay out for the advice you do 2 things. 1) you know you’re getting the right advice and that it will work and 2) you’re more likely to stick at it when you know you’d forked out and you don’t want to waste the money! Especially if you’re someone who tends to lack motivation.
If you’re motivated anyway, then crack on, and follow the hoards of good advice that has been bandied around on here.
is this another excuse for why the bike toppled over rob?
there’s some good advise on the thread. to be honest i’d avoid calipers for measuring bodyfat. not only do you need to spend a lot of money for a good set, it takes practice to get even semi reliable measurements. its arguable that they can ever give you an ‘absolute’ figure anyway, and are only useful in terms of relative measurements for a given individual. for the accuracy you’ll get the same can be achieved with a cheap electronic device (they’re only accurate ± 2% usually).
measure your weight only once a week and make it the same time of day - i.e. monday morning. keep a record of it.
find some clothing that is non stretchy and use that as a marker. if it starts to get loose, what you’re doing is working
spreading out your calories as Pan suggested is effective, that way you’re only giving the body what it can burn over a 3ish hour period. give it more, it has to store!
whilst weight loss is a part of this, its not the ultimate aim in itself, having a lean strong healthy body is. look to make improvements and substitutes to your diet and amount of exercise gradually and make it your lifestyle, not your diet.
take a photo at the start and at intervals throughout to monitor your progress and let you look objectively at what your body is telling you about the improvements to your diet and exercise.
the Food Doctor has some good books and natural supplements, well worth checking out the website. getting a better understanding of what impact which foods have on your body will help you make good choices and make swift progress.
