I use to check bbc website but they are so **** its unbeliveable…i put my winter gear and its hot when I put my summer gear its rainning…anyone know a reliable weather forecast site…
Don’t use a site…go back to instincts, you can smell if rain is coming - and check the cloud type too.
You know it’s going to be a little bit windy if the weather is changing temperature, and always carry your waterproofs!
Seriously, if you just trust your instincts for about a month, I reckon you’d be able to be fairly accurate and knowing the days weather!
Other than that, the most reliable one seems to be the met office.
I know what you mean. They have been saying all week that today was meant to start off ok, then I’d need waterproofs. Set out this morning, waterproofs in bag, even had a fleece on…ended up sweating my arse off as I was a nice sunny day.
In the summer I really don’t bother with waterproofs…on my 45 min journey to work my leathers will withstand most rain, and if it’s looking like rain when I’m off out for fun I won’t bother going out. If you treat your leathers you’ll find that they’ll be mostly showerproof…
Thanks Chenster, this is the one we have seen on Chunky M’s posts but which when asked about he tried to keep as a “V-Twin club exclusive”. We just liked the little moving clouds etc (easily amused)
I thought it was just me that no longer trusted weather forecasts.
A few years back they seemed to be getting very accurate, but over the last year or so, they’ve become borrocks. The Met Office is the best but so commonly wrong. The TV jobs seem more often wrong than right.
Odd bit. A friend in the army tells me that their met. briefings are so reliable. No longer “a chance of rain during the night”, more “there will be a light shower around (time). It should only last ten minutes but may be twenty.”
With modern rain radar the Met Office can give very good minute by minute forecasts of rainfall, but it is only available to the public who pay tons of money. For example, Wimbledon get warnings of approaching showers etc for the tennis, but they have to pay for it.
lmfao!! just have someone stand on the top of Box Hill with a walky talky to say where the rain is coming in from.
I sort of wasn’t joking about predicting the weather ones self - people rely too much on weather reports imo. Paying extra just to have a decent report seems like a rip off to me - it’s in-built! People should trust their instincts a bit more!
