An interesting followup from his brother on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/WTF/comments/1j72st/discovered_just_now_that_my_brothers_helmet_from/

I started reading the comments and am a bit surprised that almost 99% of them are so negative. Ranging between “if you ride a motorcycle you WILL have a crash” and “if you have a crash then it will be a major one and you’ll remain a cripple”.

I know riding a bike is dangerous but surely you can’t ride with the attitude that sooner or later something will happen to me and it will be a heavy accident.

Surely that’s fake? The amount of time it would need to have been held steady and the angle he would have been at just don’t seem right.

I’m with mark on this one

One of the links (click HERE) on that page claims to take you to the ‘explanation’…

Apparently, there were cardboard boxes scattered over the freeway from some asshole not securing them properly. As my brother was riding past, a box was picked up by the wind, hit him in the face. He fell backwards off the bike, and slid into an HOV lane where a bus was coming.

This is where people’s skepticism start. The bus didn’t quite HIT him. He slid under the bus (between the two front wheels, thank god) and some part of his clothes got hooked onto the bus. The scrape on his helmet is so deep and even because he was dragged by the bus until it came to a stop. If he had just come to a stop on his own, the helmet wouldn’t be like this, but since it took as long for him to stop as the bus took, this is what happened."

So the rider was trapped under a bus and dragged along in the same position for some distance… hmm… what d’ya reckon?

IMO if his head was wedged under the axle then maybe, but if it just his clothing caught then his head/helmet would have still been free to move about to some degree.

good luck telling her to wear a helmet. looks like the road should be wary of her instead

Thats my mate Anisha!!! I told her all about LB and she said she would pop over to BM one Wednesday…

Still don’t buy it myself, the angle the scrape is at would mean the biker was pretty much stood on his head.
