Wear protection!

I crashed my bike today (dont worry Kaeben Fanclub im ok) and luckily i was wearin my gear. Shamefully i often go out in trainers, jeans and a casual leather jacket wen jus goin for a 5 min ride an then spendin time off the bike, but thankfully today it was ***** it with rain so i wore my gear.

Going into a tight roundabout i hit a small patch of oil i couldnt see (and couldnt have noticed) and the bike just dropped straight onto my ankle, if it hadnt been for my boots i would have def had a broken(or shattered) ankle.

thankfully i escaped with a skinless knee and a badly sprained ankle, but i also have a new membership card! ive become a member of the condom league! from now on ill be wearin protection everytime i go out on my bike lol

please do the same.

p.s. sorry if some of this doesnt make sense im very tired lol, now off to bed, night

Bad luck mate, glad the kit saved you.

I don’t normally get involved with the full gear or not debate, but I would like to take the time to point out to the tw4t on the suzi coming through Kentish/ Camden at about 8.30-8.45 this morning.

It’s one thing choosing not to wear any protective gear yourself. The jeans and the trainers looked comfy. But taking the (no more than) 8 year old kid on the back in his school uniform, right down to the flannel shorts is just downright abusive. He doesn’t know the dangers and you should damn well have him dressed properly.

If I’d not go stuck at the previous set of lights I’d have told you so too. Muppet.

Sorry for the thread hi-jack, I hope your knee/ ankle heals quickly and there isn’t too much damage to the bike!

Glad you’re ok, how’s the bike?
and yeah, I got passed by a guy on an R1 this morning doing 80-90 wearing trackie bottoms
