TCX (Oxtar) Infinity…18 months use…still like new.
Never leaked and don’t get hot.
Goretex is superb…I recently got caught in a thunderstorm and had my leathers inside the boot…:hehe:…had to stop and tip water out (because it couldn’t get out) because it had reached above my ankles…:w00t:
I’ve got these Hein Gericke boots, did 2 winters in them no problem. The slight downside, both the zips failed around the same time. Took them back, still within the 2 year warranty and they got swapped for a brand new pair.
If you’re going longer rides might be worth getting a more substantial pair of boots but fantastic for a short/medium commute, plus I wear mine all day at work too due to working at a different place each day and can’t be arsed to carry a spare pair of trainers to put on during the day.
Alternatively, go for a non-waterproof pair of decent boots, which are a lot cheaper than waterproof ones, and buy a pair of Gore-tex over socks. I use them and they have never let me down. Can be bought at good outdoor kit retailers/army surplus type shops. It was a long time ago that I bought mine and I can’t remember what I paid for them, about £25-£30 I think.
where did you get the kit from curtis? I think im going to get those boots too for the winter, only think i was wondering is how high are they? my mate mentioned that when he tried them on they felt quite short compared to his usual boots!
