I was riding home the other night and took the road from Stratham towards Mitcham. I noticed a teenager running out into the road to pick up a football, no problem, saw him in plenty of time, slowed down, he picked the ball up and went back to the pavement.
Then just as I was level with him he threw the ball at me! Now I know it would have just bounced off but I really wasn’t expecting it. I swerved as I saw the movement and nearly hit a traffic island. I looked in the mirror and he, and his mate, were laughing. I turned the bike round and went back but as soon as they saw me coming they ran off through some flats.
I was REALLY pissed off and couldn’t get it out of my head for the next few miles, I even stopped and turned round again and was going to sneak back and see if I could catch them doing it again. Luckily I changed my mind, I don’t really know what I would have done if I’d caught them that wouldn’t have involved me being arrested.
As I got to Mitcham I saw a police car, so I pulled up next to it and told them what happened. They said they would get a patrol car to drive past a few times and see if they could see anything. I expect they were just blowing smoke up my arse, but at least I felt a bit better after that.
So if you are around Streatham then just be careful if you see a football…
Carry a few grenades on a readily accessible belt…should have the desired result 
But seriously though…those kids are seriously f’ing stupid!! Pleased to note that you avoided the traffic island!
How old were they roughly?
I would’ve gone back and surprised them. Need to be taught a lesson.
St Reatham/Mitcham? I have seen so many incidents, food throwing, attempted assaults, road rage etc I simply avoid both as much as possible.
yer we had this a few years back on the ferrier in kidbrook but it was stone’s they also tryed running thought Ally’s and small areas… that never shock me of on the gamma:P they got a shock when we caught the little buggers. it’s not funny and can kill ppl… little gits make me soooo:angry: they need a slap.
all sounds fairly chilled to me! about a year ago i was waiting at a junction at clapham north and some kids shot me in the head with what i thought at the time was an air gun but reckon it was probably a catapult! nearly knocked me out and took a dink out my lid. went round the flats to try and find them, found them, rode at them over the gardens, they shat themselves and legged it, chased em over the same junction but couldn’t give follow as i would’ve infringed about 50 traffic laws. shame they didn’t get run over but in hindsight i should’ve left it as if i’d have got hold of them they either would’ve been run over or given a serious beating. the red mist had well and truly descended and no doubt i’d end up coming out of the situation worse than them. nowadays i prefer to believe in karma as it’s the only way to lead a peaceful life.
but yeah, football, stones or whatever, when you’re on the move anything’s severely dangerous. wasn’t there reports a while back of people putting wire between lamposts ACROSS the road at rider’s neck height? now that’s nasty! :w00t:
Hackney Road (near the Bingo hall) used to be notorious for little tw@ts shooting rockets at two-wheelers (including me - they missed) around bonfire night - still goes on i think.
We have enough hazards to deal with without little sproats doing this. Put them in the stocks and let people throw things at them, see how they like it.
